atmosphere was really nice, I liked the art they had on the walls. I loved the chicken Katsu sandwich, and the pasta!

Been coming here for a long time and the food always hit the spot. Still good pricing with a generous portion. Parking here is bit more challenging and not too spacious but bunch of residential area nearby to park as well. They have a featured dessert which is different every couple of weeks.

The pasta I got was not bad—it was an interesting take on fusion. The one thing that I personally was not fond of was how close the tables were. Although it did not affect my dining experience, I just felt that people were seated a bit too close to one another.

Everything on the menu tastes great! We ordered Curry with Chicken Katsu on rice, Curry with Pork Katsu on Rice, Carbonara with Hamburger steak, Haiyashi with Chicken Katsu on Rice, Chocolate fondant a la mode, Almond apple pie a la mode, Strawberry mouse and Matcha Cake of the month, and Sweet Potato Cheese cake, and they all tasted perfect! The carbonara was our favorite. Portions are reasonable for the price - 1 order of pasta can be enough for 2 people. It's a small place, so it can easily get busy and full. Service times are reasonable. Parking might be busy, but there are plenty of neighborhood spots available. I heard there's always a lineup here, but we went on a rainy day at dinner time and were able to get seated within half an hour for 7 people. The restaurant requires 18% of gratuity for 8 people and above.

This is a quaint, neighbourhood Japanese restaurant that has been here forever. It is a bit out of the way but there is lots of free parking available. We had the Hayashi special which had a hamburger steak and 2 pieces of breaded prawns (not tempura) and the oroshi ponzu hamburger steak. The sauce on the Hayashi special is a beef stew and is nice and flavourful. We also had the grapefruit cheesecake which is a Japanese style and also light and delicious.Would return to try more next time.

Unfortunately this place did not live up to its high reviews. We started with the octopus karaage which was tough and had a funky taste/smell to it. For our mains we had the creamy masago pasta and the spaghetti with hamburger steak. The sauce for the masago pasta was really watery and the taste was mild. It wasnt bad but just not really that good. The hayashi spaghetti was also mild in flavour and was not an outstanding dish overall. Portion size for everything was good but it’s just the flavours that are severely lacking.

Uncommon flavours, an umami forward mix of Japanese and European cooking. The Masago spaghetti was great but I preferred it without the hamburger topping. The special banana chocolate pie was good. Love something different from the usual in Vancouver and it’s clearly popular, especially with local Japanese diners.

Friday night dinner after badminton, saw great reviews online, so we wentJapanese curry I know it’s a hit and miss thing, we ordering the curry pork cutlet, it’s not bad, but not my favourite.Carbonara was very good, we love the sauce and the burger steak, so goodThe Burger Doria was good too, it took a little longer but it’s worth the wait, so creamy and cheesy, delicious dishThe atmosphere was also good too, little neighborhood restaurant, with decent decor, and playing jazz music, perfect for simple relaxing dinner

The pasta flavours here are quite delicious. I had the spaghetti one with ketchup based sauce and really liked the tangy edge to it. Very satisfying. Also tried the carbonara one which was very creamy. Mango roll cake was fresh too. Great Japanese fusion Italian pasta meal. Service is basic though and a bit curt.
