The Cooking Room

This locally owned business is amazing. The use amazing chefs, have an inviting environment and create a memorable experience. If you have not been to the cooking room, you need to book a seat

Very disappointed. Firstly, we did not expect the class to be demonstration only. Staff blamed Covid for this format (unacceptable when all restaurants are completely open and this was certainly not made clear to us in advance of booking). Food was inadequate. First course of golden shrimp cups was very good but after that was nothing but disappointing. Second course included 3 small bites of fish on a pieces of butter lettuce, followed by a heavily cilantro’d soup. The main course was rice with potatoes and 4-5 bite size pieces of chicken. The complimentary 5 Oz glass of wine was definitely nothing I’d ever search out. The cooking host tried to entertain us with a description of a Thai festival but her presentation was unpolished and didn’t capture the magic of Thailand. I was hoping to learn how I could cook Thai food while staying in central AB, but quickly learned that uniquely Thai ingredients must be purchased in Calgary or Edmonton, no substitutions were suggested. For the $65pp price tag I would sadly not recommend.

We went to the Bread Class. It was fun and informative. The place is very nice, we had the most delicious dinner, and the staff is awesome. Great experience and 100% recommended :)

We LOVED it! Great night. Food was incredible and price was more than fair. We did the Louisiana Seafood Boil and it was LOADS of fresh seafood. Came with oyster appetizer, biscuits, salad, BEST crab cakes ever, corn, potatoes, and dessert. + a glass of wine, beer, or pop for both of us. Perfect date night, we'll definitely be back.

Not only is The Cooking Room a fabulous atmosphere (think Speakeasy vibes in Red Deer), it is the best spot to try new food and techniques before you attempt them at home. I have been to multiple online and in person classes and even used the space for a private event. I cannot express enough how welcoming and accommodating the staff are. They bring in a variety of chefs, but you cannot go wrong with the in house chef Nan Dell and her comedic and inspired delivery of each menu.

Always a great experience. I have been several times and never been disappointed! The setting is intimate and the food is awesome! A fun night out - I always learn something!

Learned to make some great Curry and got to eat a great meal too!

Such an incredible date night! Learned how to make Perogies, with the guidance of energetic, passionate, and friendly staff.The meal and service was top notch!My husband and I are looking forward to going back! This makes such an incredible gift of any kind.Thank you ❤️
