The Second Hand Dog Rescue

We adopted Casper at 9 weeks old on 11/27/20.He is now known as Frankie, due to his baby blue eyes.He is an amazing dog and fits right into our family.This is the first time adopting a puppy through a rescue and it was so easy and very affordable. I was amazed that the adoption fee included him to get microchipped, neutered and a reimbursement for obedience classes. The whole experience was wonderful and we are so happy to have Frankie in our family. He is so loved!

The process was comprehensive and smooth. Wendy, Dallas, and Diana were very responsive, knowledgeable, committed to my adoptee's welfare and happiness, and professional. The services provided are also comprehensive. I love that I can call anytime with questions, even after the adoption is complete. THEY ARE WONDERFUL!

This rescue was fantastic! Everything was handled quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Any questions I had were answered whenever I asked. They were kind and patient with the puppies (and us haha). I would definitely recommend them!Zoey (Juliet) is 13 months old now. We got her when she was 10 weeks old.

I would highly recommend The Second Hand Dog Rescue. She goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs are healthy, loved and cared for . She doesn't stop after the adoption either. She is always there to make sure the transition goes smoothly for both the dog and the new family. She's an angel walking among us. I can't give her enough credit for all she does. We adopted our boy Enzo from her and we couldn't be happier. She has been there on our journey with him helping in every way she can . Again , I can't say enough about this rescue. Adopt don't shop.

I did some work for Wendy and am a donor to the shelter. She is so dedicated to saving dogs and will spare no expense in vetting and caring for even the sickest dogs. All animals in her care are treated special. Now, with years of experience, she has things running well.

Just wanted to share my positive experience from this establishment. My dad owned 2 black labs/hounds. They lived with him for 9 years. He passed away recently and As much as I would have loved to keep the boys, i couldn’t adopt because I am studying to be a pilot and will be away more than I am home. I looked up fosters and this site came up. They actually find a foster for your pet so your animal is cared for in someone’s house, instead of a kennel. After just one day, the nicest woman called to Adopt my Dads dogs. Turns out her and my dad worked at the same job together, both nurses at FF Thompson. We have become fb friends and she updates me with pictures. Today they went for a swim in the pond. Would never have found her without the help of this website, and because of them, my Dads dogs are in the best home possible and have a new friend that is equally happy as they are there.

Experience was not bad, we got the most lovable pup you could ever imagine she is absolutely amazing with our two young kids and fit into the family immediately.. the only thing I didn’t like is they make you jump threw hoops to make sure your fit for the dog(which to be honest every rescue does) but then they send you to the jenkiest back yard trailer park spay and neuter place you could ever dream up.. it doesn’t seam they have the pups best interest when it comes time for them to spend money.. over all i would say nice friendly staff, they def had good foster parents for our pup. I would do it again I would just use my own vet to spay/neuter my dog next time. Took one star off for the sketchy backyard spay/neuter operation they send you too

I had the best experience with second hand dog rescue! They were so fast and efficient in their process and helped answer any questions I had at ANY time. I still even ask things to this day and they’ll always respond within 24hrs. They weren’t obnoxious in outreach in any way and made sure I had everything I needed/ made the process so easy to be ready to meet my sweet Jazzy girl.The fosters were incredible, such kind, generous and friendly people. They helped make Jazzy’s transition seamless and I’m sure I have them to thank for bringing her back to being such a great dog! She’s the sweetest, smartest and most loving pup I could’ve asked for. I’m so lucky to have found Jazzy and later on in life would love to be able to give back to this great org! You can tell the people are so passionate about what they do, how could you not get excited!
