We visited Notre-Dame for the first time this past weekend and tried Paysan for our take out Friday night. We ordered a share plate of appetizers. Wings, opinion rings, pickle spears etc. For our main we were excited to try the Coquille St. Jacques. What we received was the consistency of instant gluey potatoes, very low quality seafood and cheese piled on that wouldn't even melt upon reheating. They entire meal was so bland and the appetizers were beige and rubbery. What really upsets us is that this was $85.00. We ate approximately 25% of our meal and the rest went to waste. I write a lot of reviews and this is the first negative review I have had to write.

I went there with a friend and we enjoyed the food and service, but we both found that the portions were a tad small for what we paid. What a 20$ plate was would of been closer to 15$ elsewhere in the area, with the portions being closer to what you would eat then go dance or party. Back when I was a kid it was more of a live music venue so the portions seem closer to what you'd get if you went to pick at food and listen to music. All in all, food was good and service was good.

What a great restaurant. First time there, and we will definitely be back. Great home cooked food, great prices, and the portions are huge! Our server was wonderful; she was friendly and very attentive. Food was fast and hot. Seems to be the happening local hangout for old timers too, so you know the coffee has to be good too!

All I can say is OMG The food was just fantastic. I couldn't believe how great the meatloaf was and everyone else's food was good too. Can't wait to go there again

The staff are great to get along with. The only problem I have is take out ordered cold food, wrong orders. Otherwise one of my places to get a night out. Good entertainment and sit in eating is better than take out. Always something going on at Paysan.
