Beautiful church in the Ottawa down. Calm and serene. It is just close to Canada national gallery. No tickets needed to enter.

It has such a beautiful mesmerizing and unique art. for adults the tickets are $15 and there was no wait time in the morning maybe later in the day it gets busy.

Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, opposite the National Museum of Arts. When I visited Victoria Day - Monday, the bells rang 15 minutes before the 12:15pm daily mass. I was astonished to see how ornately decorated the inside of this cathedral was. There wasn't a single space in the sanctuary walls that wasn't covered in statues of saints, JMJ etc. The ceiling was multi arched in blue with gold stars. There were high stained glass windows. The choir sang beautifully at the back above the entrance. Words can't describe the grandeur, or time enough, to take all the magnificence in. Next time, I will have to return when guided tours are given. It was a blessing to celebrate Mass here (and Father gave a lovely homily) in the midst of all the busyness outside. It was reverent and silence before and after mass, perfect for personal prayer and reflection.

Must visit at least once if you are in Ottawa. Beautiful, serene atmosphere. I'm not religious, but it was really cool to spend some time soaking in the art and ambiance.Would have been aweome to hear to choir, but our timing was off.

A very peaceful and amazing cathedral. The details from the ceiling to the stained glass are immaculate. I especially like the two clock towers on the exterior. There is paid parking in the back of the back which makes it very convenient to access. Anybody can come in for free to visit regardless of religion unless if there is a service in progress. A must see place in Ottawa.

The Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Ottawa. It is the oldest amd largest church in Ottawa and was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990. It is definitely worth a visit while sight-seeing in Ottawa. The catherdral is beautiful inside and out. Be mindful that if a mass is scheduled, persons will need to leave if they are not particpating in the mass.
