The Petropolitan

Amazing place. The staff are great caretakers and very communicative. A tired dog is a happy dog, and my dog was so sleepy after all of the play time she got. They also accommodated a last minute adjustment to my reservation when I was stuck in a snow storm and couldn’t pick up my dog until the next day. They also send you report cards with pictures so you know exactly how your dog’s stay went. I will be coming back here!

The facility was clean and well maintained, they provided daily updates on my cat along with pictures, and, all in all, took great care of him while we were away! Thanks to the entire team at the petropolitan for treating our cat as one of their own!

My dog was so spoiled! I was afraid he wouldn't want to come home! The report cards daily really helped to settle my mind! I was so anxious about leaving him. It listed all his friends while staying there, his behaviour etc.I had human friends saying they wanted to stay there! Staff were excellent. I would also like to note they really helped me out last year when i needed a last minute board due to a family tragedy, I will never forget your kindness.

Both my former dog, Zack (RIP), and current doggo Pablo have had stays at the Petropolitan. The stays have ranged from the base line overnight boarding stays - to the full suite life treatment. Neither pup were/are big fans of other dogs, but the care and safe space at Petropolitan changed that. The staff are so aware and understanding of shy dogs, that when introduced to strangers (dogs), the two pups flourish.Further to this, Pablo arrived this morning (December 15, 2022) for a Premium Bath and the groomers made him feel calm and unbothered. Normally Pablo is very calm and kind mannered, but in situations like that or when he gets his nails trimmed he can get quite anxious, and the grooming staff took fantastic care of him.On top of all of that, the Petropolitan offers its former houseguests and daycare participants; a chance to get portraits taken for certain events! After Pablo's bath, he got Christmas photos - they turned out great and I was shocked they got him to sit still enough to grab a single good shot let alone a handful! They offer this service for certain holidays (including Halloween), and even Stampede.With a name like The Petropolitan, I can understand why someone may think it sounds fancy or overpriced. Living in the beltline myself - I haven't found an overall service for dog daycare/boarding; that has left my dog as satisfied and happy as the Petropolitan has. Speaking on cost, everything in my area is around the same, but purely based on overall satisfaction, staff, activities, feeding and grooming - nowhere else has come close to what we have experienced with the Petropolitan.TL;DR?Book at the Petropolitan before anywhere else, won't ever need to try anywhere else after your dog spends a day there!

Great location for those of us working and/or living downtown, has everything you could possibly want for your fur baby... He got his first professional grooming in 3 years, and it's far superior to anything I had been doing myself, lol...

I have been taking my dog to the Petropolitan for daycare for just over a year and I have been extremely happy with the service provided.Our dog is usually in the play room with the other medium sized dogs, but one day when we came to pick her up, the staff told us that they noticed our dog was shy and nervous when she entered the room that day, so they took her out and put her in a room with the smaller more calm dogs. She had a great day relaxing and taking things slow, and next time we dropped her off for daycare she was back playing with the medium dogs as usual. This illustrated two very important things about the way that the Petropolitan operates. Firstly, they are always paying attention to what is happening with the animals. They don't just leave them in a room to fend for themselves the entire day. They are watchful and attentive to the animal's needs. Secondly, there is an additional level of personal service that is offered, as they take the time to learn each pet's behavior so that they can identify any warning signs of when the animal might need special care or treatment.We love that our dog can spend a day playing with other dogs, while also having the peace of mind to know she is being well taken care of. The entire team is so friendly, it is obvious how much they enjoy being with the animals. They are always flexible if we need to change or reschedule our bookings, and they always ensure the best customer service experience possible (for both pets and owners). We always recommend the Petropolitan to anyone who asks about pet daycare services in Calgary as they are truly the best in the city.

Our little guy loved the Petropolitan! Our frenchie Phil is on a raw food diet and the Petropolitan was able to accommodate seamlessly. They also sent a ‘report card’ so we can see how he’s doing when we’re gone!

I picked up my puppy yesterday and she seemed comfortable and sleepy which is a good indication of the care she had but she smelt VERY strongly of urine. She had a big crusty patch on one side of her body which might have just been a dog peeing on her which for sure comes with the nature of dog parks/kennels however I really think there was an opportunity for her to have been bathed - especially since they offer a grooming service. I would have absolutely paid for this but as a result of it not being done the back of the car had to sprayed and wiped and the person sitting with her had to go home for a change of clothes. Not the best experience for me or my friend.Other than this every interaction with staff was pleasant, efficient and the person who helped get the reservation was sooo helpful.

1st time at Petropolitan with our dogs and really very happy with the service. Thank you Marina Dowson you did a wonderful job. Tobias looks very handsome and smells delicious.
