Avis Car Rental

I'd recommend this location, though I'd also recommend arriving early to your pickup — there was a big clump of people right when I got there and one customer had to wait 45 minutes to pick up her reservation. Staff were chill and accommodating despite the pileup and apologetic for the delay. Had no problems with my reservation, no nitpicking or unexpected charges on the return, and the price for vehicle quality was great. Consider getting short term rental insurance through ICBC if you don't have your own car and thus your own car insurance — it'll save you a lot compared to the option from Avis.

This is my first time to be inappropriately charged for a car rental.The reservation confirmation shows there are 4500km included in my rental, which is one of the reasons why I chose to rent a car from Avis. When I returned the car, the staff said because I rented the car for a month, the rule of 4500km does not apply to me, and instead, I could only enjoy 3000km included. I think it doesn’t make any sense! If you have another rule, you should indicate it clearly in the confirmation; if not, both you and I should abide by the original agreement. You cannot choose which rule to apply at your own discretion without any advance notification.What’s more, reservation confirmation indicates the rate for additional kilometer is 0.20CAD, but I was charged 0.25CAD when I returned the car.I haven’t encountered such disappointing situation before. Even though I’m not specializing in law, I’m sure that it’s definitely unacceptable for one party alone to change the terms.

I pre booked a hire car way in advance and added road side assistance plus which is worth absolutely nothing! When I arrived i was greeted by an employee who informed me that I was not covered for anything and asked if I wanted to add coverage, I asked what the road side assistance plus was and he said he didn’t know.... turns out even if you add that you will still need to pay an excess of 500 if anything goes wrong even with damage cover that’s included anyway. The only way out of that is to pay 15 dollars a day extra to not have to pay excess if something happens also if I was to have got clamped or towed for any reason I would have to pay and was told and extra 12 dollars a day or So extra would cover me. I ended up having to pay an extra 298 dollars when returning the car! The car’s condition was ok with some minor marks luckily I took pictures of all as the guy seemed oblivious to the damages so it seems these things are not recorded after previous rentals. When I refilled the car it was half a quarter less than full and was told it would be 40 dollars charge! I was told to go back to the petrol station and add more. I get that it’s full to full policy but I was unaware how much to put in and really didn’t expect after all the money spent to be told to go and add an extra 5 dollars worth it goes along way when people appreciate the custom you give but the service was terrible and won’t be returning.

Nice people that helped us out after our initial rental car got broken into.

We rented a nice family car few years ago, with reasonable price and the owner was very nice and he even allowed us to drive the car to airport and leave it in Avis agency. We are looking forward to visit Vancouver soon and planning to rent a car from this person again. Al.Kh.

One of the best car rentals I have ever been too! Actually one of the best buissnes I have ever been too the customer service here is above and beyond! Ali has been great going above and beyond to accommodate for us.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We were told it is possible to drop off the rented car in North Vancouver (recorded call) which was however not true in reality. We were forced to drive over 20 km to the airport to return the car there. No refunds were offered, and on top of it, we were even told to pay extra money if we did not return the car that day. It took us 5 hours to solve this issue and to get back from the airport. Never ever renting again with AVIS!

Process to get the keys was fast and efficient, car was decent to drive and very clean. My only issues are:- no one checks the car before you take it and after you come back. This means that you have to be extra diligent to make sure there are no marks anywhere before and after your rental. You’ll be at fault if there’s a mark between them checking and you getting/returning keys. It was also hard to see in a dimly lit garage with the car we had that was dirty from outside.- the parking garage is pretty narrow to get in and out so if you’re not used to that, you’ll need to be extra careful specially with full size cars or suvs- you can’t do after hours key drop which is inconvenient specially since our hotel charged for parking. I called the specific branch before booking and they said there’s a key drop spot but when I arrived they said no after hours returns.

The customer service here is excellent. The owner and his colleague wentvabove and beyond whe helping me after my car broke down on the highway. Hot me int a vehicle quickly and even suggested a mechanic to take my car too. I can't say enough about how well I was treated.

Very helpful and reasonably priced. I had to rent a car while my truck was being fixed. Due to a delay in getting parts I had to extend my rental. A quick phone call and proprietor I was able to OK it. Highly recommend.
