The Pioneer Hotel & Motel
No idea why this hotel is rated as a one star hotel!! Rooms and halls are clean. Price was not unreasonable. Adjoining restaurant a delight. My room had a mini fridge and coffee maker. Great shower and clean towels. Bed was a bit soft but only an issue for preference. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is a gem! Clean and comfortable rooms with all the usual amenities. The WiFi can be a bit slow and parking can be an issue, although street parking is allowed when the spots by the hotel are full. It was no issue for me though. The food at the restaurant was also delicious!

Very Clean rooms. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. I have stayed here whenever I’am in town. My friends and family love it also. There is also a nice bar and restaurant. It is a great value and a nice family run business. You will love it too.

It's a clean hotel and a fairly nice room I particularly like the bathroom flooring. Beds are cheap mattresses and not very good. It's the cheapest hotel in town I'm willing to stay at. The restaurant down stairs is amazing with a really cool local beer selection (if that's your thing). It's down town and not really close to anything but I like it and it has a restaurant and separate bar.

5 star Value here folks. Painstaking cared for since the mid 60s! Clean not modern.Came with a classic breakfasts in what might be the best restaurant in Humboldt today!

Pioneer Bar review -> the superb daytime bar staff/wait staff in general and lack of windows/old school vibes are what make this place. Sadly, the food selection is as unhealthy as it comes. ..almost all fried/fatty along with weird soup flavours that show some creativity but make no sense while ignoring the staples of tomato soup, vegetable soup etc entirely.

Ate at the restaurant while waiting for a friend to receive treatment at the hospital. The food was excellent. The portions were amazingly large. And the staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating for customers that were going through a fair amount of stress with a sick family member. Very grateful for the kindness and excellent service. Will definitely return.

The Pioneer feels like home away from home for me. I've been staying there half of every week for the past six months. I will stay there half of every week for the 2023 year as well. It's quiet with a great restaurant directly below the rooms. You can order food and walk 30 seconds down the stairs to pick it up if you don't feel like dining in.The staff are so kind and just good people. They know me, and I know them. They express concern when I have arrived in a snow storm. Or when I'm leaving in one. You don't find that at other hotels.

Rooms very clean. Only booked 2 nights first but wanted to stay longer and they moved things around to make it work, and the food in the restaurant is great.
