Diversity Midwives

When I came to Canada in 2017 I was pregnant in 7th month. My sister took an appointment with Diversity Midwives. I wasn't-feeling comfortable with midwives but when I met the Diversity team. I think they were team A( Amanda, Alex, Mojgan). They were very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. They gave me time every visit to ask all my questions. Amanda followed up with us during labour at home. Mojgan was with me at the hospital but unfortunately, I had a c-section with a doctor at the hospital.I highly recommend them to everyone.

I can't say enough good things about (group D)laury and Amanda ! They were very helpful with my wife's first pregnancy. They are both very knowledgeable, peaceful, and professional. We highly recommend Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery to anyone looking for an excellent hospital or home birth experience.Thank you so much , we would not have been successful without you guys .

I had the pleasure of attending a birth as a doula where my client was being cared for by Laurie at Diversity Midwives. I observed Laurie practice evidence based care, informed consent, compassion, and demonstrate a deep understanding of physiological birth. Her instructions were always clear and concise. She was very personable as well, which I feel was the icing on top of the cake! I hope to run into Laurie again in the future.

For my second pregnancy I decided to go with a midwife and I chose Diversity Midwives. This was the best decision I could have every made! Thank you so much to Team D for being patient with me and making me feel like family.I would recommend Diversity Midwives to any expecting mother, they are amazing. I could not thank them enough, from the advice to the care for myself and my baby.I may just have my third so I can be cared for by them again!

In reading the reviews, I think the majority of positive reviews are for Teams B, C and D. I was with Team A and it was not a good experience at all. I, thankfully, moved to Oshawa and switched midwives and had a wonderful experience with them, but Diversity Midwives really let me down.The midwives really did not spend any time with me and I always felt like a burden. My appointments were always rushed and frantic. One midwife actually said, “We have over 200 clients so I forget things about everyone.” They were late in receiving reports to provide me with reassurance, they weren’t organized, and they regularly “forgot” specific details about my pregnancy. Whenever I called with an issue or concern, they would invalidate my feelings and make it seem like I was wasting their time. I went to the hospital once because I was so concerned about some pain 27 weeks in, and after telling me she would come to support me, the midwife never showed up. The advice she provided over the phone and afterwards was not helpful at all.It was truly disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend Team A to any expecting mothers (can’t comment on other Teams).

When we first decided to follow up our pregnancy at this place we were so hesitant given the fact that we are new comers and wasn't sure how the follow up gonna be.However after coming to this place and assigned team, which in our case was Team D, we were extremely happy with the service we were given in each visit.After carrying my baby for nine month, and waiting a delivery date on August, our daughter decided to surprise us and gave birth last Sunday with the help of Mehranz who joined Team D. I have no words to express how Mehranz made us feel during my contraction and after birth. She is an amazing woman, who knows what to do, confident and very professional who really care for her clients. I would like to thank Team D, the entire diversity team, especially Mehranz and her colleague Mojgan from Scarborough General for their discipline and gentle caring they offered us during our birth. Especial thanks goes to Frya who was paying us a visit to our house and make sure our new bor daughter is safe, healthy and well.My husband and I are very grateful. We thank you all.

I had a wonderful experience with Diversity Midwives. All the staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. Both my children were delivered by a team of midwives, but based on a recommendation from a friend, we decided to try this clinic with our second child. We are so happy we did! We were assigned to Team C - Zoe, Melanie and Kirsten. Each and every appointment was so informative and we felt so comfortable with all three of our midwives. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable, caring and personable. Zoe ended up being the midwife on call when I delivered my daughter. She was so supportive - as was our secondary midwife and the student who was also present at the birth - and I felt very grateful that she was there with me.I could rave all day about our experience with Diversity Midwives. They ALMOST make me want to have a third, just so we could go through this experience with them again. ALMOST ;)! But instead we will just refer anyone and everyone who is expecting a child to contact Diversity.

My experience with Team A at Diversity Midwives in Scarborough, was even better than I could have ever expected. Their patience, care, knowledge and wealth of experience made me feel like I was getting the best care possible. These women are selfless, caring people who have devoted their lives to helping others. I never felt rushed during my appointments and could ask all of the questions that I had.Bruna helped deliver my baby at Scarborough General, and she was an absolute rock star! She knew exactly what to do when my baby’s head was ‘stuck’. I strongly believe that it was because of her that I was able to avoid an emergency c-section and had an incredibly fast recovery.The only thing that I would recommend is that the secretary could work on being more friendly.Thank you Diversity Midwives!!!

This was my first baby and I couldn't be more happier with my experience at Diversity. Valerie, Mandy and the support staff were so amazing. I could scream from the roof how much I love diversity. I feel that every woman needs to have these ladies in their lives. I was incredibly supported. I had amazing and consistent contact with my midwives. They were always there when I needed them. Covid didn't affect my care at all. They put in place protective measures. They also did an amazing job at explaining every hurdle I experienced during my pregnancy. Always using visual aids and providing educational reading material. I felt that my team went above and beyond. The support staff at the front desk were always so helpful and kind. Diversity midwives is a must have during your prenatal care!
