Absolute scam. Bills are higher for sure. I also moved from my old house to a new home, they started harassing me with calls an entire month before I moved out to get the new hydro number for the new house. Until I move how on earth can I get a new hydro number? They actually had the nerve to send this to collections saying I broke the contract as I was moving into the new house! I explained to their staff on multiple occasions and they were always very understanding and informed me not to worry... yet they keep coming after me.At this point can't wait for my day in court! Stay very very far away from these scammers.Also filed report with BBB.Mike

They pretend they look out for you by saving you money on your bills. Truth is your bills will be higher than before. When you want to get out of the contract, they do everything to charge you penalty fees. I signed up in July 2013 for a 5 yr term and supposed to have 3 years remaining from now. They insist I have 4 yrs remaining because apparently my contract date does not count, and they sent me 3 letters with 3 outrageous amounts of penalty fee. I only have natural gas and hydro with them. I don't even know how they come up with 3 penalty fees.I have filed a complaint to Better Business Bureau and also discussed with my lawyer.This company is a complete SCAM.

Should be zero stars. My mother got sucked into this 4 years ago and is paying the price now. She sold her cottage and didn't realize that she had also put her hydro with planet energy as well as her apartments gas and electricity. After selling she cancelled her hydro one and all of a sudden she gets a call from planet energy trying to get another $113.00 from her for cancelling. It has been hell trying to explain she sold the property and shouldn't have to pay the penalty. Still trying to resolve this issue. Going to the better business bureau and to CBC to get it over the media what crooks this company is. Let's take advantage of a 83 year old. ( at the time) . My question to planet energy is if she passed away are you going to charge her estate the cancellation fee?

Today at 3:08pmDO NOT sign with Planet Energy! You will be led to believe that you will save money even though the contract that they email you AFTER you sign up indicates that there is no guarantee of savings. I could deal with the no guarantee of savings; what I can't deal with is that it has cost me MORE money since we have signed up with this company and now they want to charge $50/yr X 5 yrs to cancel....what a rip off. Perhaps this is the plan... get consumer to sign up, then after 2-4 months (it takes 30-60 days for account to be opened plus a 2-month bill cycle), consumer realizes that they are in fact losing money and want to cancel, then PE charges $50/yr for the 5 yr commitment.... plus HST! I mean, if your a legit company, truly out for the benefit of the consumer then why charge so much for cancellation? Why not just a flat rate of $50.... even Rogers & Bells don't charge that much for cancelling. I've already overpaid more than $400 on my hydro since signing with PE, now I have to pay $282.50 to cancel....and that's just for Electricity. Gas cancellation is over $1k to cancel... Just ridiculous. Will be spreading the word!

I found out it was impossible to move away from planet energy although we had moved. We were threatened to have our account put in bad credit unless we paid a certain amount. The reason why is that, although i have proof from service ontario that we have moved to a new address and offered to forward that email, Planet Energy refused and, will only believe us, if we can forward a new drivers license.Sad to say that after our move, we have left for a one month vacation out east therefore we do not have access to our mail. My husband caved in and decided to pay the amount they are asking to close the account.

It is unfortunate that Google does not have a no star, this company does not deserve a star at all! I fell into a trap signing up with ACN and Planet Energy in 2012 for 5 years and never renewed. I moved twice since then and they still find ways to attach themselves to my gas bill. One time I was waiting 4 months to close on my next house, they kept harassing me send the account to a collection agency. Enbridge said that I am paying almost a $100 more a month by being associated with them. Today I finally got rid of them because I was ready to take legal action. DO NOT deal with this company. I am sure they will not be around much longer anyway.

I highly discourage anyone looking to switch their services to Planet Energy. The sales representative invite themselves to the house then manipulate (you) customer to sign a contract that will bind you with the company for 3 years. The cancellation fee is ridiculous. The rate they offer is super high! and they will convince you that their fixed rate" they offer will help you save money in the long run. I regret signing up with Planet Energy."

I wouldn't go back to Planet Energy as I hadn't saved much money in the 4 years I with them.I sold my house and now I no longer have a hydro bill under my name.They tracked me down by phone and called insesently for weeks. I eventually blocked them.Low and behold, they send me to collections and I receive a bill for $300!!! For what??My lawyer and the BBB will be hearing from me first thing in the morning.

Hi FriendsPlease be very aware of this company has very shady customer service practices.This company should get very negative star rating.I got my contract with this company through ACN and I was with a this company for 4 years and 10 month.When I sold my house my closing was delayed and this company made no effort to contact me by mail and send my file to a collection with out making any reasonable attempt to contact and give me a Opportunity to pay the cancelation free.This company have a extra free called global assessment free.i did not save any money with this company for the last 4 years.Do not get this product from ACN even you like to help ur friend get someone other product from ACN but not the energy plans.This plant energy do not know what they do.As soon as you say you are canceling the plans all they do is to send your account to a collation and rune ur good credit.I'm on the process if making a complaint to the energy board of Ontario and consume bord of Ontario and the Ministry.It this company has done this to you please do not be silent let the above mention bords know and I'm in the proses of contacting CTV news to expose this company and how they have runes people's credit.ThanksI got a reply from them after one year.It shows how much they do not care about customer concerns and reply.As soon as you ask to cancel your account with them they will find a way to had your account for collections.

The prices have always seemed higher to me but I have nothing to compare it so take it with a grain of salt. I have used them for 4 years now and just moved. I forgot to call to give them my new address. They called me a few times which I appreciated but I didn’t have my new hydro account number. The last time they called I wasn’t able to answer and they didn’t leave a message. Then yesterday I get a letter from a collection agency demanding $113. What on earth is wrong with you people? I called and they claimed they explained they had notes on the account that they explained to me this would happen if I didn’t get my new address in on time. I told them that was never apart of the conversation and prove it by sending me the recorded conversation which they claim they don’t have. Told I need to send proof of an address change in order not to get charged and which documents I need to send. They said they will review the document and make a decision. If I send the exact document you require no decision is needed it should be automatic but the rep wouldn’t guarantee that only that it would be reviewed. My intention was to stay with planet energy but now I will never deal with you again because of this and will use my legal out clause.
