Sunrise of Unionville

My mother was at Sunrise of Unionville for 4+ years. She was there prior to the pandemic and all the way through the pandemic. She received excellent care throughout her stay. The staff went out of their way to continue to provide communication during the pandemic and I was able to go in as an essential visitor. My mother was held dear to their hearts, I firmly believe this to be true. My Mom and our family were treated with respect and kindness from the day she arrived up until her death a few weeks ago.I would strongly recommend Sunrise of Unionville.

A very pleasant environment for our beloveds to spend their days. The rooms and common areas are lovely. The team is responsive and always available if you need to be in touch. Some of the staff are terrific. We were lucky enough to have Monique assigned to our loved one and she was wonderful. We loved her and she showed us great affection and care as well. There were some challenges with the care provided. We must advocate for our loved ones - public or private, the family voice is essential to maintaining quality of life.

Have a friend of the family living at Sunrise for the past six years. Have always had great communication with the staff and appreciate their follow up and solutions regarding any concerns. Friendly and professional care.

one of the staff was Very rude, i called them and said i was looking for a practicum site in order to complete my PSW course. She said we are not doing that here. I asked why she said “I don’t know why and she disconnected. I wanted to ask how students will complete their course without getting a practicum site. A valid reason is what i wanted to hear.

My online inquiry was responded to very efficiently, a tour appointment made same day. The director of sales was thoughtful, empathetic, detailed and professional during the visit. Available options were shared. I didn't feel rushed with my visit.

My Mom has been a resident of the the Reminiscence floor of Sunrise of Unionville for about 1.5 years. The staff have made every effort to create a welcoming environment and help her to feel at home. Having a Designated Care Manager (DCM) gives my family peace of mind that we have a “go to” person if we ever have questions. Hyacinth, my Mom’s DCM, is not only professional, but treats my Mom with a level of care and compassion that goes above and beyond.Throughout the last year and the many challenges of COVID-19, the staff have been amazing in working very hard to keep the residents safe, while trying to provide extra activities for stimulation.We are kept well informed with weekly communications from Sunrise management. As well, Dorothy the Activities Coordinator set up a “Smile App” in the last year that keeps us connected with messages and photos, plus updates on planned activities and special events which is really appreciated.My family and I feel very fortunate that we were able to find Sunrise for our Mom after her dementia made it too difficult for her to cope in her own home. We would not hesitate to recommend Sunrise of Unionville to anyone looking for a warm, safe new home for their loved one.

Sunrise of Unionville has been very helpful during a very difficult time (Covid) when we had to admit my Stepfather. Everyone from the Director of Sales to the Reminiscence Coordinator to the care takers have gone over above and beyond to make sure we are well informed. During Covid Shut down we have always been able to contact and talk to my Stepdad and the staff to make sure all is well. This transition is never an easy one for anyone but Sunrise of Unionville has been there every step of the way and have been incredibly helpful. Our family would highly recommend Sunrise of Unionville.

My mom moved in to Sunwise almost two weeks now. We really appreciate the staffs there as they are very kind, gentle, and respond to her needs in a speedy manner. My mom don't understand English, but the staffs can still able to communicate and assist her without any problems. The environment is neat and clean, and they offer delicious food.

Although the premises are bright, clean and lovely, it's the staff that truly stand out at Sunrise. They are exceptionally patient, cheerful and kind. The care they give my mother provides our family with real peace of mind.

My father, Mohan lived at Sunrise for a while. He loved this place very much. Great caring staff. He was well looked after. Excellent, tasty and delicious meals, which my father enjoyed immensely. We thank Sunrise and their staff for the great service, care and compassion they have provided to my father.
