Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve
This is an absolutely gorgeous place to visit. I only visited during daylight hours, but would have loved to see the night sky as well.I biked here twice during the week that I was in the area and it was great biking. The trails are well marked and challenging enough to make it interesting. But the highlight is the views. They are fantastic and I would definitely recommend biking or hiking here if given the opportunity. The trails are shared, but we encountered virtually no one else on the trails and I don't imagine that it ever gets busy.Great place to get outside, get some exercise, be in nature, and breathe fresh air.

Beautiful place. Road to get there very windy so if you get car sick or if you have vertigo just be aware. Please bring a trash bag with you to deposit your garbage. My husband and I ended up picking up garbage left over from previous visits. There are bins there, but it seems people are too lazy to walk over there. Please keep these beautiful places clean. There are portapottys there, but again, they are being abused by selfish people. Bring tissues for backup up.

Nice place to mountain bike, if you don't mind getting your feet wet because the bridges across the wet n muddy areas are destroyed & unmaintained. Take lots of bug repellant..

Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve
A must visit place if you like stargazing.You do not need any equipment unless you want to capture Astrophotos.You can spot lots star clusters and sky objects including Andromeda and Milky way.Ensure to check weather for clear sky conditions and new moon night to maximize the viewing.Also, bring Jackets even if you are visiting during summer time as it gets pretty cold during nighttime.The parking is free and there are two mobile washrooms available.

We started the walk to late , it was Autumn so next time it will be earlier in the day. It is a magnificent park ,going back in time. I would love to see it at night to see the stars.. it was a warm and sunny Fall day perfect for a sunbathing Massassauga Rattlesnake but I didn't find one to photograph..

We obviously went there after a northern light prediction but had to return with a disappointment. Night sky is beautiful & perfect place for star gazing. Lot of bugs and mosquitoes. Parking is limited.

Amazing site for astrophotography and telescope viewing, a bit too crowded and party scene on a Saturday night, recommend a weeknight for a quieter time. Arrive early (8:00 pm) if you want a parking spot!

Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve
Very cool location, good spot to go for a hike on the Canadian Shield. Unfortunately overuse has started to ruin the area. Garbage can be seen everywhere along the trails, very crowded at certain times of year and lots of people illegally camping (yes there are designated spots but people ignore them and make their own). If the issues at this location are solved it can be an Ontario gem once again.

Spectacular place, sadly that people do not respect the dark reserve rules because they don’t basically know what does that means. I hope there could be better regulations and rules on that.Road from the highway to the place gets fixed by Muskoka authorities since it’s a mess.
