Canyons Park

The Canyons Park is a great place to go for a stroll or enjoy a picnic. The park features two storm ponds joined by a lazy river, waterfalls, and interesting rockwork. I didn't get pictures of the water features operating on my visit today, as it is still early in the season.There is a gazebo in the centre of the park with interpretive signs about local wildlife.A playground designed for 5 - 12 year-olds, is on the North end of the park near the Canyon Parkway entrance.The paved trail around the lake is just over 1.6 km (1 mile) long, and has several benches to stop and relax, as well as several picnic tables scattered around the park.There are a few warning signs about the possibility of rattlesnakes in the park - the presence of rattlesnakes is not unusual in this part of Lethbridge.Though the park is surrounded by homes, it is a nice place to stretch the legs.
