Hertz Car Rental - Billy Bishop Toronto Airport

Reserved an SUV to drive down to the states. When I arrived I was greeted by a cheery employee named Kajan, they secured a Hyundai Tucson for me and I was on the road quickly.When I returned the car everyone was once again, very pleasant and I left with a smile on my face.I soon realized I left some coffee beans in the glove box. When I called Kajan informed me that I left coffee beans and USD $$.The team was very honest in informing me I also left money and they worked together to insure It got back into my hands.Super grateful for that and for the flawless rental process.Thanks again, I will be back.

Quality of cars is bad - some rubbing noise in the Toyota Camry I got. Cannot change it as no other same segment car is available and all others have winter tires. All cars in that location have Winter tires in June, can't understand why. Even winter tire is ok but rubbing noise is scary in my camry and you realize it only after taking it to the highway/Expressway. Avoid this location.

Perfect service. The car was ready at the scheduled time. The very friendly agent was quick in filling out the paperwork. We got a very nice car with less than 10.000 miles and very good equipped. Not exactly the booked class, but we were asked if this car is okay for us and it definitely was.After reading all the bad reviews we were unsure first, but it was really a very good service and we got a great car.

They take your money. Then cancel your reservation and do not refund all the money. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had.

I share in Noor’s view of the Hertz experience promised online vs reality. Abysmal alignment between the Hertz Brand promise and policies and the real Hertz experience, that is a patchwork of ‘independent, unpublished, ad-hoc’ decisions made at by an outlet or employee.

Can give high marks for the service at this location, staff were on the ball and professional. Note that you'll need to walk over to the island if you start from the city side so give yourself a bit more time. Likewise you'll need to take the ferry back to the mainland and the ferry when you return the vehicle... Budget time. That said, I drove right onto the ferry both times and it is very fast to cross. Zero issue.

Absolute worst location of hertz to rent from. The staff is so unhelpful, and not accommodating. They have different policies online and in person, they don’t take debit cards. This location also charges a ferry fee in case you want to compare with other locations. I didn’t mind paying it, but I was throughly disappointed with the staff. Also anyone who doesn’t have a Canadian credit card can’t rent either. Please do your research before going here. I gave them a full tank of gas back and they still charged me $15! Never going back here again. Giving 1 star because the car was nice at least!

Hint, book direct, not on third party web sites. I needed a mini van class to haul some contents from a storage locker in FL to ON. Surprisingly the once ubiquitous mini van has gone by way of the dodo due to the pandemic. All were either sold or sold out.I checked every car rental company and location from Buffalo to Toronto. I even researched one way rentals from Tampa, FL to fly down and drive up. If they had mini vans they only included 200km. Herz, Enterprise and National were the only ones that offered true unlimited KM.I reserved a mini van the weekend prior to departure. Rate was reasonable, but I was still skeptical if they actually had one. Turns out they had 2, but one wasn't ready. I was given a Chrysler Pacifica with 8357 km. Process and return was hassle free. They didn't try to up sell me something, they didn't try and coax me into buying their insurance, they noted a small ding on the fender. I put on ~4750 km on it in less than a week. I wish they still made the Grand Caravans, the Pacifica is just not there, way too many trouble some nannies, auto stop, confusing radio, bluetooth, lane departure, disconnected feel due to the electronic steering, AI high beams that don't turn on when you need it and turn off when you still need it etc. The Grand Caravans were close to perfection on that platform with so many generations under the belt. Regardless, I drove it down, stuffed it full, and drove back and returned it, a quick process. Zero issues, a hassle free rental experience, no surprise. Really enjoyed the service here. Options were all laid out in the process picking up the car, especially during the winter time. They also had available at the time options having a car with snow tires.Rental car is on the island and need to take the ferry over. Plan adding on about 15-20 minutes.Overall very satisfied with the service and the folks behind the counter.

Really a worst location I have ever encountered, I had a car pickup at 11pm. I had confirmed the time with Google. It clearly showed 11pm and in that case I reached early by 15 to 20 mins.There was no one at the counter and when I tried contacting Hertz. There was no satisfactory response. I am still struggling to get my refund. Just a head's up the guy working over there leaves very early and he will not respond to your questions nor will he answer any calls done to that location.
