I tired to make a large withdrawal. I tried calling ahead to order the cash, but my call wasn't returned. The teller outright lied to me multiple times, and then proceeded to question me over and over again as to why I needed MY money. She reluctantly gave me a small portion of what I had requested. She told me that it was policy" and that another branch wouldn't give me anymore money because they would see that I had already taken too much. I went to the Memoral & John location

Horrendous, disrespectful service. The branch has by there own admission misfiled my father’s power of attorney forms several times and though they admit it’s their error, say that due to his declining mental status he cannot fix and they cannot either. We have tried for several years to have the same questions answered only to have the same issue of mismanagement happen over and over again. Currently they are refusing to cancel a missing Visa card until the missing Visa card turns up. Train chimpanzees could do better. They believe the powers if attorneys do not have the best interest of the people they are representing at heart which is part of the refusal to follow the legal document. This has been on going for multiple years.

Full of crooks. I went in to deposit my tax refund with my completed taxes in hand and was told last year it could be deposited fine as long as I brought my taxes with me. Nope apparently it would be held for 4 business days from today. The teller was rude. Overall I think I’m going to close my account.

Wishing I could give it lower. Every time I go here, the customer service is atrocious and it takes forever. My experience today:Took a ticket to wait in line. Instead of using the actual device to show which number was next, every representative proceeded to just shout out numbers until someone went to them. For example, mine was 225... three reps shouted sequential numbers from 212 to whoever came next, despite the clients organizing themselves in order and stumbling over one another when multiple tellers were calling same or similar numbers.Dealt with a representative with a bad attitude (the norm here it seems). Despite her age, she acted like a teen trying to get the interaction over as quickly as possible (which was only worsened by the fact that she was seemingly training a new teller at the same time, setting him up to be just as terrible as she was). A few remarks and looks of annoyance remained until I expressed dissatisfaction and potentially closing the account. She seemed fine with it until she noticed that the account in question would not be an inconsequential amount and thus required supervisor approval. Oddly enough, this has happened to me more than once at this branch and this really annoys me as the attitude should be the same across the board.Was informed that my $30k transfer was revoked due to a mistake on their part prior resulting in an account being closed without notice because their mistake had resulted in a 30 cent overdraft fee. Previous representative had failed to inform that the particular account incurred a fee for doing transactions in house. Having known this, funds would have clearly been left in the account to continue its existence and thus not incurred overdrawn fees and its eventual closing. I expressed that no notices had been sent regarding this. Multiple times, the representative explained they do not send out statements, to which I expressed that I was not speaking about statements but rather notices that the account was being canceled. Sending a letter that the account would be closed would later be confirmed by the supervisor, thus negating the entire argument she had made. Still no answers were given as to why this letter had not been sent.Representative could not provide me with proper information required for international transfers. Took nearly 30 minutes of discussion before exact details could be confirmed. Repeated several times that the procedures and information being provided to me was for transfers within Canada, not for those coming from abroad. Eventually was able to locate and confirm information once supervisor was involved.Having had enough, I expressed dissatisfaction with this bank and would like to close my account. Was initially informed that I could not close my account (This is illegal at any bank if your account is in the positive). Then, was told that I could just transfer my account. Expressing that I did not wish for the bank to know where I would be moving my account to and no longer wishing to have any association with this bank, I explained that their refusal to properly close the account with sufficient time was illegal and was finally informed that the account would be closed once approval was received (an expected 24-48 hours).This bank needs to seriously train their representatives in proper customer service etiquette and understanding their own internal procedures. Not only this, but their training seems to just breed ineptness and an unwillingness to provide decent customer service.

Horrible bank. Been a customer all my life. Business practice of farming nsf fees from hard working people with 5 days holds on regular work checks has to stop. Not only does it cost people money but also costs people in their daily activities. Definitely switching banks. would never recommend

Long waits, associates are more interested in socializing than helping the line up of people. Average wait time to be served is over 15 minutes. Don't go into the branch if you want quick service. The associate in training had to ask for me to confirm my personal information address and Social Insurance Number while she had my drivers license and account information just incase I forged my documents. I have never been so unhappy with the service in the 43 years I have been with the Royal Bank

Went there on July 30th with a credit card issue and the online app and website were not working. The man helping me was the most patient and compassionate person and went above and beyond. I was extremely stressed and he made the whole process so much better. Did not catch his name but top notch customer service!

My realtor suggested RBC for my first home mortgage; been nothing but a nightmare experience.Debiting my account before the start of my mortgage without explanation. Debit dates consistently did not correspond with official RBC paperwork provided to my real estate lawyers office. Signed up for biweekly despite requesting biweekly accelerated.The Branch Manager offered zero solutions and didn’t bother to escalate my complaint to the proper department…found that out after calling their Client Care department and spending over an hour on the phone with them. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort out this and change my branch. Avoid.
