Hi, I wanted to leave some feedback here as there really isn't much user experience information online for exterior sump pits. As far as the components go, everything was good, EHS was good to deal with and it went together as expected and we didn't have any trouble installing. We decided to install an exterior sump pit for our ~80year old home as part of a bigger project that included waterproofing the exterior of the foundation after recently finishing our basement. We didn't have a space inside the already finished basement to install an interior sump pit which is what all the basement waterproofing companies were insisting. It was not easy to find a waterproofing company that agreed to install an exterior sump pit because they are not common and no contractors in my area have any experience with such a thing. We did everything with permits and the town (Halton Hills) was ok with approving it. Also, it turned out our older house didn't have any weeping tile. The basement waterproofing contractors did an excellent job installing and leveling new weeping tile, proper drainage layers and installed the exterior sump pit system exactly as instructed by EHS. I was very eager to see what would happen during our first heavy rain. As it turns out, nothing happened. Not a drop of water ended up into the sump pit. I think the reason is not enough water enters the weeping tile to need to be pumped away. That could be because we are in a sandy soil area which drains quickly. I have checked after every heavy rainfall and nothing. We haven't been through a winter with this system so I will check again when we get the spring thaw. It seems in my case that the system may not be necessary (which I suppose I should consider ourselves lucky that we don't have water drainage problems since the pit and pump are a last line of defence), although not sure that the building code would allow not having some type of water evacuation/drainage system. I give 4 stars, which could be a little generous in my case because we haven't been able to actually test the performance. This all leaves me wondering if this is normal and if an interior sump pit would have had a different result because, perhaps unlike the exterior system, an interior sump pit is exposed to water pressure that may accumulate under the slab floor. Who knows.

I recently purchased a modern square window well for a basement egress window. The shipping fee seemed a bit high, so I drove to Stratford to pick it up. The well was flat packed, assembly was easy. It is now installed, the well looks great and I like that the step up and out feature makes egress easier in case of emergency. I would buy from EHS again.

I had a quote on their stainless window well product, got in contact with one of the dealers near Ottawa Ontario and after deposit was given, the shipping quote for one window well in a flat shipped box from Stratford Ontario to Ottawa Ontario was 275, which is not even reasonable. Even the Dealer could not explain the over shipping charges and offered my money back.I dont know how a company like this can honestly do this. BUYERS BE WARE.
