There is a least one documented incidence over 3 years ago of a client suing The Guild for poor quality workmanship, failure to provide the client with accurate information on the progress of the project, and failure to uphold the terms of the written estimate that The Guild's GM had provided (Barrie Small Claims Court No. SC-342-16). The Guild charged over $800 to perform a complete in-depth inspection/analysis of the car's condition before they started. There was no indication of any major repairs required (the GM kept saying in his written emails that the car is beautiful). The written estimate for the work I asked for was for approximately $15,000 based on a written list I provided of items to repair, replace and/or refinish. The final total was over $45,000 with no additional work being done, and a great many items not done, or done to a poor level of quality. Suspension was not rebuilt as per written agreement. Instead of rebuidling the air conditioning, theyu pump in R12 CFC (which is now banned due to depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere), and then two weeks later invoice me again (just two weeks before I picked the car up) for pumping in a few more pounds of R12 when the first charge leaked out. Another shop found that no hose connections has any seals installed, which explains the leakage. I had given written approval to convert the system to a non-ozone depleting system). Months later, the compressor seized because there was no lubricating oil in it. I was in constant email contact about status of the project, wherein the GM kept stating in emails everything was progressing well, with no major issues were being uncovered. This documentation, along with pictures of all the work done provided a 3 three ring binder of evidence that was included in the Statement of Claim filed in the Barrie Small Claims Court. It took over 3 years for the case to come to court (delayed at times because The Guild was filming for their TV show). Then

We like the show, but the owner's ridiculous long and unattractive long hair is annoying to watch.

If you want to speed go on a racetrack. Your clearly speeding on public roads for your so called test drives. Irrisponsable behavior.

It is now the next summer, finally got a chance to drive the car as Guild stole last summer from me.Got lots of photos I'd like to include here as they used plastic tubes on the engine, Mugler never changed. Oil pan leaking and simply put the car doesn't even drive .Feel free to reach out if you want to see the photos as I'dove to save someone the time money and aggregation . It's not just a bad job it's a dishonest job. Don't think because the are on TV they are reputable . I made that mistake.------I heard great things but unfortunately the experience did not live up. Delays are expected for parts but not being able to give a time frame on labor is unreasonable. Work was not completed as described and after waiting all summer to get my 280sl back I found myself terribly disappointed with the work. I called last week and expressed my concern . Was told I'd get a call back but never did. I've moved on and found another garage, suggest you do the sa

I lucked out and got a two week try out for an assembly tech for Dan Short at FantomWorks and he stayed wound up with everything, I wish he could've been more laid back like the Guild's Dan. This Dan seems so much easier to communicate with than the FantomWorks Dan. I ended up getting the job and flew home to get my tools and car and they put me in a badass furnished man cave style apartment that used to be the production room. They were so helpful at making me feel at home and it was a dream job for quite a few months but the tension our Dan brought to the table (not always intentionally) while on the clock was unbearable sometimes. I thought and still think the world of him and everyone there but he was so overwhelmed with 9 million projects at once that he'd snap sometimes. I like the way this Dan handles his business. And those freakin shirts of his.

Love the show. Laid back and relaxed compared to the plethora of competing shows. The staff really look like they enjoy what they do. Dave’s eclectic fashion adds variety and he comes across as very friendly. I tend to have a bunch of recent cars, but should I branch out, I would invest in something from him.

My favourite place. They have sooooo many beautiful vehicles. You can walk by the window and peak in at these gorgeous rides. Staff is super friendly. Their gift shop has tons of great finds. You want something unique, you gotta check this place out. They also have a television show filmed here and you can watch it on velocity channel. If you're in the neighbourhood you gotta check these guys out.

I inquired if the Guild would do a few maintenance procedures to my car when I take it out of storage. They told me they work on vehicles older than the year I have only. The Guild is known for doing incredible frame off restorations work. I watch their show on TV all the time. Thxs Gord
