Mariner Motor Hotel

I give this review 1 star because the front staff we’re friendly and organized.First it’s the odour of the room, than entering the bathroom the room looked clean but when looking up the paint was peeling from the ceiling and a large hole just outside the bathtub on the wall, I wish I’d taken a picture. We were given two half rolls of toilet paper, that was odd. The room looked clean but it was so dark and smelt, who knows when the rug, bedspread or curtains were last cleaned, I only say this because the Venetian blinds were filthy so I have to wonder.The decor is 1970’s and the price was $213 a night. I know it’s Blue Mountain and it’s time to ski and have fun but for that price and the conditions of the room it was nothing but robbery. No I will never stay here again.

The people who own the place are hospitable and friendly, but I would only stay here as a last resort. This review is more to prepare people for what to expect since lodgings are hard to come by in Collingwood. The sheets and mattress cover were stained such that my son wouldn’t even sleep on them so we had to cover the bed with an extra sheet we happened to have. Our friend’s sheets had something crusty stuck to them. We all slept in our clothes on top of the sheets and did not use the blankets. The toilet lid was not affixed to the toilet and just fell off. Our friends only had hot water in their shower and no cold. We couldn’t sleep well and did not stay the second night despite having already paid.I would recommend that if you do stay here, bring your own bedding and pillows.Don’t expect the fridge to work…it had 3 prongs and the outlet has only 2. So maybe bring your own power-bar for a 2 prong outlet if you need the fridge.

It's exactly what it looks like in the pictures. Run down and dated, but it is clean. It was a comfortable stay.A good conversation piece to compliment your trip, Elvis and Priscilla stayed there, Chris Hadfield too!The snow was not removed off the steps and sidewalk so not very accessible.

This hotel was not the worst but their service was the absolute worst. We had asked for an early check-in, and when we weren't there exactly at 1 o clock they called us and freaked out on us saying that we needed to get there right away or they would give away our room. Once we got there at about 1:30, they made us pay the full amount for the week. When we got to our room there was only one towel and we had asked for more right away and did not receive them. We had to go the next day to go and find someone to get some towels cuz no one was at the front desk. It says on their website that they clean the rooms daily, however in the five days that we stayed there they never came into our room to clean, refresher towels or our bedding. We had even went to the front desk to ask someone to do it however once again there was no one there to help us. So we left a note, and we still never received new towels, bedding or a room cleaning. We decided to leave the hotel before the end of our stay because the service was so horrible. Also just to put the icing on top on our last night there the owners had a domestic dispute and the police had to come. Needless to say I strongly suggest you stay elsewhere

Shifty owners/workers...tried to keep a Cash deposit on the room. Buddy conveniently disappeared at check out and wouldn't answer the phone until called from a different phone number. Wouldn't give a receipt for deposit, now I see why!!! Stay away!!!

Stayed with family over Civic day long weekend. The rooms are clean and bedding is fine too. The front desk service is very slow and once you check in expecting to see the hotel staff is hard. The description will say they give breakfast but that’s misleading, they do give 24 hrs coffee - tea but their kettle doesn’t work. It’s close to downtown Collingwood & 15 mins to Blue Mountains.

The internet cut out about 1/3 of my stay there (4 days 3 nights). The staff were kind but it was still inconvenient. The room was clean but my room was not cleaned once for the duration of my stay despite not having a Do not disturb" sign hanging on my door."

Stayed here March 1stOur room was clean along with all linen. The king size bed was very comfortable and pillows were great. For people saying their fridges don’t work… you have to turn the on. I personally love the vintage feel of the motel. Reception worker was nice and checked us in quickly. Would come back!

BEDBUGS! My girlfriend and I booked three nights at this hotel. After the fist night my girlfriend woke up with what she described as mosquito bites. I didn’t really pay attention to it until after the second night when she woke up covered in them. I looked at the bed and sure enough there were BEDBUGS. I notified the manager who proceeded to accuse me of bringing them into the hotel. I asked for a refund and he said the best he could do was $100 which he then changed to $80. I immediately left and am now writing the first review I’ve ever written for anyone.

The room was not that good for the price. Paint was peeling in the bathroom and the shower faucet needs a repair. On the plus side, it was close to me destination and it was better than sleeping in my car.
