Very helpful guys. I had my transmission rebuilt and the transfer case by another mechanic, unfortunately he had missed some tightening of some things during the reinstall. I soon found out that he had brought the actual transmission and transfer case into here for the rebuild. Two days pass and I noticed puddles beneath my truck. Brought the truck into this place and they promptly refilled my transfer case and checked over the install and repaired another leak. Didn't charge me a dime and had it done inside an hour. Highly recommend. Professional and thorough and caught mistakes made by another shop. Put my mind at ease. Thanks for the help!!

Recently got a big job done perfect ar Pro Trac Gear. I wanted to have my axle gear ratio changed on front and rear diffs (4x4 truck). Work was done in a professional manner. The quote was done via e-mail and phone. They also fixed a number of other problems all within the same time frame as original job. They worked hard and fast so I did not have to stay any extra time in town since I was from out of Province. They also warranty their work. I can recommend this company to anyone needing services they offer.

They say don’t trust “stealerships” but after coming here for a transmission diagnosis due to jerkiness and being told there were lots of “metal shavings” in the pan I went and got a second opinion at the dealership and it was a completely different story. Turns out these guys at Pro Trac didn’t even bother opening up the pan as it was still factory sealed so they just did a drain and fill and determined we needed a new transmission and torque converter put in for $4000. Real shady move. The fix at the dealership was approximately $350 to change out one solenoid and new fluid filled. Transmission back up running smooth like butter. Stay far far away from these guys.

Rear axle bearing replacements for Toyota 4Runner. Asked for simple shop press work. First time they pressed my bearings on in the wrong order. You'd think they'd look at a manual when doing this? Second time, to resolve this issue, they damaged two hub/bearing studs and replaced with bolts and nuts that were the wrong size/type. Didn't say anything about this but when I noticed, I wasn't able to reassemble on the vehicle until ordering the proper parts again. I was lucky to get out of there with my axles somewhat intact. I wouldn't recommend this shop for this type of service.Edit: They knew which vehicle it was for - took two weeks to do 1-1/2 hours of labour. I've had this kind of work done before and had no problem. Lucky I knew enough to notice it was assembled the wrong way. Imagine putting your vehicle on the road with the axles like that? Could've been catastrophic.

First time at the shop, they took the time to listen and to diagnose the problem with my truck. They were amazing to deal with and very knowledgeable. My truck is running like a top and I will be bringing my project to them for more work, and a plus found out they do work on all sorts of vehicles so will be bringing in my car for some work too. My 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 started to make a whistling noise at around 30km or so. I changed a rear wheel bearing that was worn hoping that was it. Nope, still there. After using my engine ear I thought the sound could possibly be coming from the Transfer case or Transmission. Took it to Pro Trac Gear for diagnosis. They checked the transfer case and diff with no signs or issues. Then they pulled the rear axles for examination. No wear and the bearings were good. Everything checked out fine. Not sure how many hours they worked on my truck, but when I came to get it they didn't charge me a dime. That's pretty rare now a days. Best guess they figure it's the Fierce Attitude tires that are down to 25% or so making the noise. In any case, they eliminated some drive train possibilities for free !! What started out as a great rebuild went sour really quick, when I noticed drips after the rebuild, Martin diagnosed from a picture that the front pump was leaking from apparent bad seals. Truck drove amazing on my way in for a reseal, when I picked my truck up something wasn't right. After notifying martin that my transmission was grinding, he wanted to try something, it wasn't until after that I was informed that he had put an additive pack in. The additive pack didn't work (obviously) so they booked it in for a replacement torque converter Nov. 16, this job took them 6 hours. Two weeks later my transmission started grinding again, it wasn't until I took it for a second opinion that martin finally decided to replace the converter again, this time the job took from 7:55am to 4:59pm, with me sitting waiting, I was finally told at noon that they were apparently checking the complete transmission over. The joy that I had in being able to confidently drive my truck with pride has been destroyed as i no longer have the confidence that my transmission will continue to operate correctly, after 3.5 months of problems. Truly wish they had as much pride in their work as I have in my truck, I still have 9 months of warranty but would rather pay to have the trans rebuilt else where if anything happens.

Highly recommend ProbTrac Gear! Martin and his team are honest and super quick, I had to have my car towed late at night and they were super accommodating, they took my car in with no appointment and it was fixed the next day! They throughly explained what my car needed and the cost made sense! If you need an oil change or work done on your car I highly recommend coming here!
