Shagal Jeans

Winnipeg’s Exchange District was full of garment factories making shirts, pants, jackets and hats until about the 1990’s when most of the work went overseas. Ed Shagal had one of these businesses in this building until the early 90’s when he had had enough and moved to Hawaii. But he’s back! Come in and look through brand new old stock jeans for men and women, corduroy and jean jackets. It’s all real hard wearing denim without spandex, so they will last for 50 years. Cash only.

I had heard about Shagal Jeans re-opening after 30 years on CTV News so took the opportunity to pop in while in the exchange. The store is tiny, but floor to ceiling with brand new 30+ year old Denim. Various styles, washes and sizes. I was particularly excited to find Raw unwashed denim jackets and Jeans. Men's unwashed Raw denim jeans were $75. Men's unwashed Raw denim Jean jacket was $100. Prices were higher for the various washes. Quality looks amazing, 100% heavy weight cotton and made in Canada. I only had enough cash for a jacket, but will be back to pick up some jeans.Note they have men's, women's and kids sizes. Denim Jeans, Jackets, and Corduroy pants.
