Change Island - Fogo Island Ferry Service

Nice clean ferry - very efficient - generally runs on time..however you need to be at.least 90mins ahead of schedule.and get in line otherwise you will be bumped - that is.of course you are taking a vehicle across. And for the early morning schedules on busy days some people park their cars overnight. the ferry serves coffee and muffins - there is nothing else at the terminal on either side so be aware of that.

Great service! The larger ferry is brand new. Arrived right on time and left right on time as well.If you are given option for a smaller ferry and are in a rush, take it. Even after stopping at change islands, you would arrive earlier than the bigger ferry. Make sure to get in a line up way in advance.

Nice new boat to Fogo. Timely departures. Overall a positive experience. If you're directed to park on the 2nd level it can be a challenge to drive up the narrow ramp.

Take the favorite ride to change islands and tour a bit and then take the boat to Fogo Island and experience a wonderful old view of Newfoundland with boat rides and tour guides, restaurants and especially with a fogo Island inn.

Crew and staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The vessel is state of the art and provides comfortable seating, a controlled climate, lookouts and outside seating. There is also a small canteen which is staffed by local businesses found on Fogo Island.Unfortunately​, the ferry is prone to mechanical issues, severe wind and/or ice and can be frequently delayed.Always call ahead to check the schedule! During the busy tourists season it would be in your best interest to arrive at the Farewell terminal at least 1 to 1.5 hours ahead of the run. The terminal has a seating area and restrooms, but has fallen into disrepair - be prepared for a long wait in your vehicle.

Lovely boat with limited services for passengers. Check government web site for schedule and be there an hour early to be sure. Pick up food/snacks on the way to the parking lot as there are no services on site for food or beverages. Fogo Island and Change Islands are beautiful. Take enough time to see them properly.

Very smooth crossing. Excellent reserved seating. Very efficient boarding and disembarking. Everything was wonderful except for the cost of eating in the restaurant. A small side caesar salad and water cost over $9.00. That was my only reason for not giving it 5 stars.

By far the worst ever ferry experience in North America. Zero communication. No organization. You pay for your ticket only to realize you won't be getting on the ship. Get there 2 hrs beforehand and still don't make it on the boat. Next boat in 4 hrs. No amenities for patrons waiting for the next boat. Not even water or vending machines. Real third world vibes for this service. Be prepared to waste a day. Bring food and water, a tent and survival equipment, who knows how long you'll be stuck. If I could give zero stars I would.
