I have been holding off from writing a review, because I wanted to wait to see if I would be reimbursed due to a flight delay. I keep hoping TAP will come through, but after calling more than 5 times and emailing them numerous times without successful results, I am deflated and appalled by the lack of communication between TAP departments and their poor customer service.I submitted my claim in November 2022. I am still waiting for my reimbursement. After reading some of the comments here, I realize my frustration is shared by many passengers.According to my last conversation with TAP staff, I will need to resubmit a new claim. If I choose to do this, it will be the 3rd time I am submitting the same claim.

The worst airline I’ve ever had to deal with. We booked a flight with TAP for the summer of 2020. This flight got canceled due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions. At the time this happened, TAP ONLY offered its passengers a voucher for their flight ticket. So from 2020 summer until 2022 spring they offered no reimbursement, they just kept extending our voucher date expiry.In April 2022, they began offering monetary refunds online. I attempted to submit my request for reimbursement online but their site wouldn’t process it. I called them in April and after an hour on hold they were able to process my request and told me that I’ll see my monetary refund in 4-6 weeks.I waited more than 6 weeks from my call and nothing had been deposited. I called them again in June 2022, and they told me it’s still being processed and I should wait another 4-6 weeks.Another 6 weeks goes by and still nothing. I call them in July 2022 and they tell me that today is the day it got processed and I need to wait 21 business days for the money to appear in my account.I waited that time and called again in September 2022. They keep saying it’s being processed and that I need to wait.I’ve been waiting for this refund since April 2022 and it’s almost October 2022. That’s 5 months of TAP refusing to give us our money back.All our other flights (that were not through TAP) processed our refunds in days!UPDATE: TAP sent us a link to update our banking information… and of course the link doesn’t work.

TAP sold me the most expensive economy ticket to and from Lisbon, but credited only 50% of points on the way out and zero on the way in. Their customer service is unresponsive or rude. Stay away.

THE WORST AIRLINE.Don't book with TAP. Don't fall for the deals they post. It isn't worth it. Spend a little more and fly with anyone else. They had different policies at each airport. In Chicago, they were not present until 1 hour before my flight departure. Luckily I was able to pass security without a boarding pass. In Paris, however, the TAP workers left when it was 1 hour until my flight departure. With all of the covid measures in place, I was able to make it to the kiosk 1 hour before my flight, and NO ONE WAS THERE. There was a line of people left wondering what was going on. I was an hour early, and needed a boarding pass from the kiosk. Couldn't get one, because they were gone. Every other flight had emailed me the boarding pass, and the signs all over TAP and Orly airport said boarding stops 20 minutes before departure. There was plenty of time, and TAP was absent. The TAP employees showed up 3-4 hours later, and said that this nonsense was absolutely their policy. A TAP employee from the call center said to go to the help desk at Orly... Also empty. 3 hours after that, the help desk employee shows up, and laughs at our problem, and tells us that we could pay a $300 fee to rebook with them 2 days later for a total of $1200. We booked with United the same day for $700, and will never fly with TAP again.

This airline has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I wish I could give them zero stars. Do not fly with TAP Portugal, you are truly better off by paying extra with any other airline. In summary, I booked my family's flights with them and basically ended up paying twice for one set of tickets.Their system had cancelled my tickets for a trip with no warning and had charged me a hefty cancellation (upwards of $2k). I discovered this 2 weeks before I was flying. I had to rebook my tickets and the agent told me they would refund me the cancelled ticket charges. This was back in June 2022. Here we are in March 2023 and I have still not received anything. I have followed up consistently and been given a different story each time. Most of the time the representatives just keep putting you on holds until you are timed out and automatically disconnected. They took my bank information and deposited nothing. Apparently now they have closed the case without resolving it. Extremely frustrated. They should not be allowed to operate as an international airline.

This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with before.We booked flights in November of 2022 and then canceled them less than 16 hours later. In accordance to the refund policy listed on TAP Portugal's website as well as the policy set by the US Department of Transportation for airlines operating in the United States - passengers have 24 hours to cancel their flights for a full refund.Despite doing so, we still have not received our full refunds 6 weeks later. This is a lot longer than the 7 day requirement set by the Department of Transportation. However, from reading online, this is actually pretty minimal, considering that it has taken some folks close to a year to receive the proper refund.We finally received a partial refund at the 4-week mark, but it was $160 short from the accurate amount. When I asked TAP Portugal's Customer Service Team about this discrepancy, they told me that the airline keeps that amount in taxes". We only received this partial refund after calling them repeatedly to follow up on it."

Never flying TAP again. One of the worst companies I’ve flown with.They made me check in my regular sized carry on on the local flight within Portugal even though eventually there was plenty of space on the plain. This caused me a major inconvenience because I had to go to the baggage claim and re-check in to my next flight and go through the security again.Also they will make sure to weight all your bags and charge you for the slightest overweight. I wish they specified somewhere that’s it’s a low-coster like airline so that I came prepared.

Horrible airline experience. Could not travel due to COIVD-19 and was issued an e-balance. I have been up-sold, hung-up on, treated like my concerns were baseless and feel defrauded. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS AIRLINE. Pay the $100 more and fly with someone who has good customer service and treats their passengers right.

OMG – what a disaster – I paid for my seats on a TAP round trip but my husband was departing later and returning with me so I had to book his seat right after mine. Their server at that point wasn’t working but I figured no problem I will do it by phone. They then informed me since I bought the ticket through Expedia originally they could NOT do a phone seat purchase without charging me $200 extra for the return flight!! They would have to re-issue it. Furthermore, they were extremely rude about it, particularly the manager Richard, who basically said too bad, complain to Expedia, that’s how it is even though the issue was their server and I had no trouble buying my seats for $61.00. I will work hard to avoid ever needing to use this airline again and will ensure my many friends hear about it. I can’t believe there was neither any support, nor solution, and in fact though I was staying calm but strong about what I needed, I received such a strong attitude from the manager.

On international flights, the privilege of flying business class has its obvious perks! This flight took me from Rome to Lisbon and eventually back to Canada.The service, the space and the food were all enjoyable.The lie-flat sleep provided ample room to get comfortable, relax and get some much needed rest.
