Co-Op Your Independent Grocer Embrun

My dear friend is a regular, daily, local and loyal costumer.She used self check out and forget items in the back of her cart.Instead of signalling her of this innocent mistake, staff, including security guard, let her leave store and called police on her.Despite her insistence on paying for items she was detained and humiliated. Store is now banning this local mom for 6 months.What is this exaggerated reaction from the store managers ? This could have been prevented.Now store has lost her business and mine.This is shameful and seems like a set up looking for trouble.To be clear, my friend KNOWS she made a mistake, but the way it was handled is a PUBLIC RELATIONS DISASTER.

The reason why you're getting one stars is because of the way I was treated today in independent. I was dealt with a new person who didn't know what she was doing so I complained to whoever was on the service desk and it will be dealt with. I have been shopping with you people for 30 some years and today was the worst day that I've ever had that person doesn't deserve a jobIf the person doesn't know what she's doing then she doesn't need the job she shouldn't be there. Lady at the service desk was kind enough to perhaps go and speak with her but I'm not satisfied with the service that I've been given and you do not treat people like that. I was doing my neighbor a favor who's in her 90s so give me a break. I don't want to be contacted by anybody this was dealt with and I hope the next time that I go in that that person either knows what she's doing or is not there.Cashier was also throwing the food down to the end of her cash and was not packing the bags I was doing that and she was having trouble with the sweet potatoes so you need to show whoever's working how do you use the scale. But you do not throw food it's too expensive to be thrown around

Supper disappointed in a 60 Anniversary cake we got, if I had any other option have I would not have taken it. We got a 1/2 slab with images on it, my wife left detailed instructions for what she wanted, if you were not able to do it, you should have said so. For the price I was expecting a lot better, looks like a beginner did most of it, but I will give you credit, the images did come out really good, but the rest, I mean look at the 60 they put on it, you cannot actually think this is ok? Not impressed at all.

Check your receipt been over charged 3 times since Christmas. What happen to the produce either there is no choice or low grade product. Without any competition pricing is high. Would rather support local if local supports quality product for price. Produce sucks if there is any on the shelf.

The prices are too high! However, I do love to use the self check-out. I never have to wait.

Where's grocery store ever post tickets for flash sale on items? And then doesn't give the price. It says up to on the sticker, and yet there is 0 off. The price food is always passive. People that work there are not helpful

Constant disappointment at this location. I don't understand this store. Every single time I try to shop here I leave frustrated and baffled.EMPTY shelves. Everywhere. Especially on a weekend; even before noon.Today ; no fresh berries, no white potatoes, no chicken... basic stuff and it's not even a sale item and there's none!Same thing if I show up during the week. I have never been able to get every item on my grocery list.Now let's talk about prices - dusgusting. Price gouging like you've never seen. Items are 4 to 6 dollars more than everywhere else EVEN ON SALE!!flyer items are never affordable, what a joke. Today is the last time I will ever try shopping here. I'm done.

One of the reason this store being my favorite Independent is they have my favorite meat product: Beef rib finger meat boneless. Unfortunately I couldn't find this product for last two times. I hope they continue to order it and I can enjoy my meal again.

This grocery store has pretty much everything you need. The regular prices are decent and flyer deals are usually pretty good. Bonus - the bakery gives a free cookie to children accompanied by an adult - so the kids love to come here.

Great upgrade pricing is not as competitive as in the city yet population is much greater now and their only competition is Foodland metro who's prices are just too high so not sure why independent isn't more competitive...but overall for a town its great instead of driving to the city
