Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Burlington - Appleby Mall

My son has been going to this location for quite some time now. James Patrick is a dedicated educator who loves his job. He is passionate about teaching the kids. I have seen my son progress quite well under James's guidance and supervision. Would recommend this location in a heart beat.

The instructor; James Patrick is incredibly dedicated to the Kumon process. He (and his staff) encourage the students and builds up their confidence so they are excited about learning. My 9 year old daughter struggled with reading and now reads voluntarily for pure enjoyment! Now during the pandemic, James continues to adapt his program to ensure the success of his students both in-class and while distancing.

The Kumon program was a life-changing experience. After 8 years at these Math and Reading centers as a student, I was able to develop essential self-learning skills along with a sense of determination throughout my studies. I believe that it was these newly-learned skills that shaped me to become the independent and successful learner I find myself to be today. And even now as a high school student, I find myself back at Kumon volunteering my time with young and bright students at the Appleby Village location as I help pave the way for their promising futures. Through the views of both a student and a volunteer, I find James Patrick's center to be an extremely encouraging environment with an incredibly supportive set of staff working there. I would 100 % recommend this location above all!

I attended this Kumon centre for the majority of my time in elementary school, and it has truly helped me realize my potential. It has taught me to work hard to achieve my goals, and how anything is possible if you work towards it. This has become evident though my math achievements going into high school. I received the Math Award of Excellence in Grade 10, which I highly attribute to Kumon and the encouragement of James Patrick, the wonderful instructor. James is there for his students to cheer them on through the highs and lows of the learning process, and any child is blessed to have him as a Kumon instructor.

We have three children attending the center for several years and we are very happy working with James. Our two girls work everyday on their math allowing a routine to form and they have excel in their school. Our young son whom is in the spectrum improved in his reading and writing, James was and is still is very supportive in listening to our needs so that our son could thrive. The material is great since it helps reinforce through repetition and it allows him to build confidence. Every mother who has a child in the spectrum knows that challenge in helping them to write and James was accommodating in providing the material for him to practice at home. I highly recommend the center to any family who wants their children to thrive in math and reading, you will see in time the fruit of their labour and their confident blossom.

James and his staff are incredibly professional and supportive every step of the way. My daughter started with Kumon Appleby four years ago and it has given her confidence and allowed her to be highly successful in both math and reading. We will be with James for the entire program!

I was a student at Kumon from grade 3 to grade 10 doing math work. Doing Kumon was one of the best decisions I have made. It helped me understand and complete math related problems. James has helped me with the Kumon work and made math simple and easy to understand. I know that without James and Kumon’s help that I would not be as smart at math as I am now.

My child has been a part of Kumon Appleby Village for 2 years and this centre is fantastic. The instructor James Patrick works tirelessly to support and encourage each student and has worked closely with my daughter to help her excel and grow as a student. Highly recommend this centre! Mr. James has made this reading journey for my two boys seamless and fun! We started attending kumon at the end of 2022 with no reading expertise and very little letter recognition. My older son is already an emergent reader in just a few short months and my little guy who is in JK is writing his letters and developing his basic reading skills. I'm impressed and so proud. Thanks to Mr. James and his staff, my boys are well on their way to becoming excellent readers! Highly recommend.

JAMES has totally blown me away. He is amazing. I truly believe his Kumon Centre will be a turning point of my son’s teenage years.
