Swell Tofino

Booked a surfing lesson with Swell Tofino. Our instructor was Aaron, and we were quick to learn that he was a legend. A surf God if you will. No better instructor out there. Contemplating a tattoo of his face somewhere on my back. A review, as promised, Aaron. Cheers, Hayden and Bill.

There are two SUP surf schools in town. Choose Swell - you won’t regret it. Extremely attentive staff both in my pre-booking communications, followed by the instructing on the water. Phenomenal attention. Really great lesson. I picked up a lot of good tips and was able to catch several waves.The lesson-bombing sea lion was a total bonus ;)

My daughter Cait and I went to Tofino on the weekend of Feb 4th and 5th. Cait suggested to me that she would like to take another Surfing lesson in Tofino. I called Swell Tofino.I called them on Saturday afternoon and inquired for Sunday the 5th. I spoke to Randy who answered all of my questions. I really appreciated his attention to detail for me and enjoyed his enthusiasm!We met behind Hotel Zed at Swell Tofino’s Surf Shop on Sunday morning.Bridget was at the Shop and helped the students to get their wetsuits and all of the gear. She was very helpful and personable as well.There was only Cait and another gal who took a lesson. They had 2 instructors, Randy and Aaron. Cait said that they were a lot fun and were excellent Instructors.Cait felt that the lesson was a good amount of time as well.The whole process went very smoothly and it is well worth the price that they charge to!AND most importantly, Cait wasn’t even cold…promise!!I have included 3 pics of Cait’s experience.The 3rd pic is our firewood shed where we live in Parksville. I will display “Swell Tofino’s” surf sticker proudly!If and when we go to Tofino next, I’m sure that Cait will contact Swell Tofino to take another lesson!Thank You Swell Tofino!

Definitely recommend the bikes and the surf lessons! Just spent a week at the zed hotel and had such an amazing experience. The surf instructors were very well informed and helped my wife and I surf for the very first time. They put a lot of emphasis on safety and explained how riptides work to a couple of people from the prairies with 0 ocean experience. They were both super kind and made the whole experience that much better! 10/10

We had a great lesson with Randy from Swell! He was so knowledgeable about the currents and the onshore training part and so patient in the water with my kids and I. Will definitely go back for more surfing with the Swell Team!

We had such an amazing time with Swell! Emre and the entire team were so great with accommodating our large group booking. On the day of our lesson, Ali, Aran, and Mack were perfect- the right amount of Chill" and "Business". We felt safe

We had such a great time with Swell! We were a new surfer and another with a little experience, but no formal lessons. It was a pleasure from the start with super friendly crew and awesome instructor, Aaron. The quality, timing and pace of instruction from the beach to the water was excellent. The wetsuits and boards were in great condition. We'll definitely be returning to rent gear from Swell and highly recommend getting lessons with them!

We came to Tofino to get a great surf lesson, and Swell definitely delivered. As a group of beginners we were guided by amazing instructors. We had a good introduction first on the shore, to get familiar with the moves and board and then they guided us to the shallow water. Instructors were helping us with tips and we all managed to ride the waves. We had a lot of fun and we definitely recommend Swell, if you want to rent a surf or get a lesson. We are coming back for more in the summer!

Had a lesson with Ben. A super fun, easy going nice guy with lost of helpful tips. Very attentive and made the day a ton of fun. We were in the water very quick after a brief safety instruction and basics on how to surf. The real lesson was in the water. I never got up but will definitely be back to try again with Swell!!
