My 5 year old son started going to classes here a few weeks ago and I've found it to be a great choice for martial arts plus he loves the interactions.The teachers are great and friendly and know their stuff. Classes are affordable as well.Highly recommended.

Best place I have ever been to in my life.Good clear communication from the people running the society and it is run very well. Very clean mats, instructors know their stuff very well, seminars/visitors, team day, very respectful and understanding people, and most important of all are the good nice people to train with and with care in mind. Forgot to say it is also fun and there are kids classes for children. Every class is hard but is another opportunity to learn more.

This is hands down the best gym ever. Big clean space, amazing coaches, great teammates, great schedule (there is a class for everyone). Its a great gym if you want to just learn the basics and do bjj for fun or if you want to compete. The team spirit is really high. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Safety is a top priority. Its an amazing community.

Best BJJ training place in HRM, hands down. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly instructors who clearly put the students progress and well being first. You can freeze your account if you’re sick or out of town, you can train any day of the week, morning, noon and evenings. Incredible atmosphere and well maintained building. Can’t ask more than that!

I had the pleasure of visiting Halifax BJJ Society with my wife this past summer on a trip to the East Coast. The staff and student base were very welcoming, the training was excellent, and the vibe was top notch. We had a blast with everyone on our visit, and they were kind enough to even lend us gis to help us with the challenges of jiu jitsu laundry while on vacation! The class schedule seemed well balanced for beginners and experienced students, the front desk was transparent when I asked about price points for memberships (which were a steal compared to the cost of training at most places we visit), and the level of instruction and training partners was very good.I would highly recommend this academy to anyone in the area looking for a place to train, or for any visitors to Halifax and the surrounding communities!

If you’ve had the opportunity to train elsewhere and you come here you’ll know it’s second to none. If you have only trained here you couldn’t possibly understand just how awesome you have it. The perfect gym culture, inviting, supporting and always safe and clean. You have the opportunity to learn from multiple high level instructors who have some great accolades to show for it. More than just the gym and atmosphere at Halifax bjj, you have owners that will give you the shirts of their backs to have you there. I can personally say when times were rough these guys helped me out and kept me on the mat. Also I am not a bot, this is not a bot answer, this comes from your super outrageous sweaty fat guy! If you are between gyms, check out these guys for sure, if you are a first timer, this is the best gym in the city, hands down.

Dropped in here for the lunchtime nogi class and was thrilled to see the mats packed with all levels of grapplers. Really relaxed atmosphere mixed in with very high level instruction and rolls.I know that Canadians have a reputation of being friendly but the members of this gym took it to another level. Good times

As someone who has trained at multiple MMA gyms over the years, I can confirm that the Halifax BJJ Society is top notch. Highly skilled friendly instructors, tons of space, and a competitive nature mixed with everyone's eagerness to help you grow makes this place second to none in Halifax. Highly recommend.
