Community Care Midwives

The care received from my midwife team (Team 1) made the overall hardships of pregnancy easier to bare and put more focus on the joy of expecting. Each appointment feels personal and they connect with you throughout the entire experience so that by the time you deliver you feel like they are family. The time and memories are deeply cherished. I have four children and this is my second child delivered by midwives. The overall experience with midwives was more personal, enjoyable, relaxed, memorable, and you feel like you have more of a choice in the process from beginning to end of pregnancy, because they don't just tell you what is considered to be best based on a general medical knowledge, but they also give you all options available to you and do not pressure you to choose one way or the other. That matters a great deal.

I loved working with Community Care Midwives! They made me feel incredibly comfortable and were always able to answer any questions I had. It felt like my team of midwives really cared and they were there every step of my pregnancy. I just had my last appointment and I’m sad to leave their care. I would recommend midwives to everyone.

I had a great experience with team 2 and would recommend Community Care Midwives. Although I was disappointed my birth did not go to plan, the midwives were so helpful, compassionate and caring (Alea & Veronique were both amazing). The postpartum care was great, too. I loved that they do at home visits during the first week postpartum.

We used Community Care Midwives for both of my pregnancies (February 2020 baby and March 2023 baby), and they are fantastic. We were with Team 1 for both pregnancies. Most of the midwives from Team 1 are no longer there from 2020, but we had a wonderful experience with Lesley, Morgan and Stephanie from Team 1 with my recent pregnancy and birth. The ladies are all very professional and knowledgeable, but also personable and approachable. They provided us with all the necessary information to make informed decisions during pregnancy and birth, and provided a judge-free space to let us advocate for the pregnancy and birth my husband and I wanted. They fully supported any decision we made. We also loved the in-home and in-person appointments to check up on me and the baby until 6 weeks postpartum – I wish we could continue to see them for all our baby well-visits.I would 100% recommend them! I think they are the only midwife clinic in the area that has privileges at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. So, if you’re thinking about using their care, reach out ASAP and DO IT! You won’t be disappointed.

I have have two beautiful experiences with Community Care Midwives - particularly with Team 2. The level of care a support I received through both my births was exceptional. With my first midwife supported birth, Team 2 helped me navigate the birth trauma I experienced with my first delivery. They were able to ease my mind and were beyond attentive and patient with me. With my second pregnancy assisted by the midwives at Community Care Midwives, they helped and supported me through my high risk pregnancy despite being a transfer of care to an OB. It was still able to lean on them for support & they took over my care after delivery to continue my postpartum 6 week journey.The team at Community Care Midwives is extremely supportive and knowledgeable in their field. 10/10 would recommend.

I had a wonderful experience having these lovely and professional ladies as my midwives throughout my pregnancy & after! I Highly recommend Community Care Midwives to anyone who is having a little one and want the best for themselves and baby :)

My son is now 13 months old but I decided to write a review this late hahah.I was with Team 2 and decided to go the Midwife route with my second born- and I really really loved the care I received. I was a little upset that it ended up being an emergency C-section but that’s on my body and not the team. They were there to support me even through the surgery and be there for me emotionally. I’m going back to them this time.Would definitely recommend them to everyone!

By far one of the best decisions I made during pregnancy was to recieve prenatal and postnatal support here. I had no idea how stressful pregnancy could be or how my anxiety would play a role in my experience with my newborn. Team 1 was always professional, kind, knowledgeable, available and patient to my 10000s of questions. I am so thankful for the quality care I recieved and would reccomend to anyone looking for that extra care during pregnancy and beyond. thank you team 1!!! I'm only sad that I couldn't stay longer after my little one was born :)

I have so much gratitude for the midwives, I worked with team 1. I cannot recommend the care of a midwife enough, I wish I had known about it during my first pregnancy. I appreciate that there was plenty of time to ask questions, get more information which allowed me to really enjoy my pregnancy while feeling safe.It also helps that the initial visits are in home and takes the stress of leaving the house with a brand new baby. This also includes plenty of support establishing my breastfeeding journey.Thank you truly - this has been a very memorable experience.

I can not say enough about how absolutely incredible my experience was with team 1. I am a first time mother and had such anxiety about what I should expect out of my delivery. My birth did not go to my original plan but the intelligent and strongly compassionate women who's care I was honoured to be in never faltered. I am soo grateful for the support these amazing women provided me with. I highly recommend Community Care Midwives as they went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience possible.
