The food here is really good. The environment is calm and cozy. My kids (teens) and I both really love the food. It's a nice change and they always have something interesting I want to try.

Good food! Wish they gave more tofu/tempeh in the dishes though. They’ve forgotten to add things in sometimes on my online orders. & Sometimes orders can take awhile because they are usually low staff. Still recommend!!

The service was above average, but extremely friendlyI got the pesto chicken panini and it was good on whole grain bread with seeds in it, great tasting but not too saucy it was just rightI'll be back for snacks and maybe some of that kombucha on tapAtmosphere brought down the starsIt could be because it was morning still but the windows looked like they were cleaned with a dirty rag the garbage and bins were on front of the cooler

We were very happy with the food style (healthy, varied, and colourful with interesting spins on common ideas), the house kombucha (subtle and easily drinkable), and the blended juice (again, not too sweet, great flavours). Service was reasonably prompt. Bathroom was clean and had a change table (something we count as a bonus).Overall: recommend and will be back

The glass entrance door was filthy, as were the countertops. If they can’t keep the front house clean, then how can I be assured that the kitchen is clean? Also, I ordered a sandwich to stay…they served it to me in a to-go container! How wasteful! They serve their water in to-go cups. I asked if they had a glass or a mug and the guy looked at me like I had 2 heads.Honestly Roots how can you live with yourselves knowing that people like you are the main cause of all the garbage in our oceans. Is washing a plate or a glass just too hard for you?? You should be ashamed of yourselves for being part of the PROBLEM and not the solution!! I will never eat there again. Get it together, and start thinking about our PLANET.

This place USED to be amazing. Seems like a whole new operation. Still worth trying. Good location, good layout, and nice outdoor patio space. Unfortunately now there is a lot of room for improvement. Overpriced for lower quality food which does not taste fresh, organic or wholesome. Different menu, but same name. One of my orders was incomplete. Food is served in disposable containers and takes longer than expected. There is no compost or recycling available. Walls are bare and renovated restaurant space lacks character overall. TVs are overwhelming. At the time is this review, website is not up to date. Worth trying once to make your own conclusions and share feedback so they can improve effectively.

This place used to be my favorite in town. When I heard they were renovating and updating their menu I was excited to come back and try it out. The renovations they did made the place look so cold and uninviting, it was so beautiful before. The quality of food has gone down, and portions are smaller. It took an incredibly long time for our food to be served and there was only one other person in there. Super disappointed.

30 dollars for two quite slender 10” wraps with a hard plant stem, acrid kale and stale tasting ingredients is WAY too much. This used to be a popular lunch spot with great wraps until this winter when i believe it may have changed hands and underwent renovations. The music is so loud, with that big plexiglass shield up, they cannot hear us, and we can not hear them. So, one order was wrong. Its sad: we don’t have a lot to chose from here, and this was a pretty reliably good spot.

I miss a lot of the previous menu items and find some of the similar items are not of the same quality, value, nor flavour. They may want to update their name as many of the new items are not healthy and the buffalo mac and cheese is not real food, it is extremly processed and I would be scared to read what the ingredients are in the so called cheese sauce. The frozen hot chocolate is still decent.

Roots Modern Health Food
Very disappointed, my wife and I waited for 40 minutes for 2 paninis and a frozen smoothie. There were customers in before us very frustrated and we should have clued in but we took the chance. This was one of our favourite places for lunch and unfortunately after reading other posters reviews it gone down hill with new management. No plans on returning. Try somewhere else.
