RONA Building Supplies - Trail

Asked for assistance to get a power supply for our dishwasher. The guy gave us a cord without a plug and sounded like that is all I needed. I am not a plumber and trusted the guy.. and he gave us a wrong item! Luckily we found a cable at home and it worked...

I have been to this store couple times now. I had one of the RONA giftcard, tried to use at the till. Staff at till wasn’t aware how to process! He explained to me very kindly about new company change over procedure. Called young lady in the office. She came to till, helped out within seconds. Smiling, friendly, sweet accent. Flooring lady was really helpful as well. Busy store. Found most of staff on the phone dealing with customers.

Not impressed people. I've been waiting for my fence panels for over a month. You've had my money all this time, but I don't have the product. You didn't tell me that you were short panels when you accepted my money and scheduled delivery. You delivered half of the order, yet you recieved payment in full . This is unacceptable service.

The store is helpful in any building adventure. Was able to return unused building supplies. They were so knowledgable with every question I could ask. Really down to earth. The wood quality was superb.

BRUTAL customer experience. Berated by the Pat (the manager) in front of other customers and employees. Completely unnecessary and unbelievably unprofessional. He seemed to enjoy himself emboldened by his status - as manager (??) or maybe because I am female. Quite the role model for staff. Pat flipped out when I suggested they change their sign. I said that because FVBS (their alter ego) won't honour Rona gift cards which they told me BEFORE my large purchase they would. Seems they are Rona when it works and FVBS when it doesn't. Strangely, Pat told me the exact same thing happened to another customer recently with a similar large purchase. How can a store manager be so out of touch he would tell me that? I'm not a fancy manager but maybe there should be a memo informing staff so they can answer customers correctly when asked. Save the customers a little pain. But like I said, I'm not a fancy manager.My last experience with Pat was when I ordered $10,000+ in appliances from Rona Kelowna on the offer of free delivery. They reneged and Pat was less than no help. He actually confused the facts and became somewhat explosive when I talked to him about trying to find a different solution. In the end Kelowna Rona came through. In the past 3 years I have easily personally spent $24+k in the Trail Maglio/Rona and $20+k in Kelowna Rona. I'm not a contractor. To me that's a lot. I will never again step foot in the Trail Maglio/Rona/FVBS store and immediately canceled 3 doors I ordered before the tirade. Sad thing is, this is a local store but I've heard many similar stories to mine.

Paint Department staff today was extremely helpful with helping us choose the correct product for our application. She knew everything there is to know about the products they carry, and made our selected purchase very easy!

Helpful and willing to ensure customer is satisfied

I don't know why I keep coming back in.Getting served is a pain I had to listen to a person complain about something that wasn't even related to his business there while I waited, paying more always hurts and when I needed to find out where the lumber was that I had just over-paid for, there wasn't a single person to be found. I ended up loading myself with what I wanted and could have robbed them blind had I been so inclined. I drove away with out a single person saying anything. I am sure they have cameras but I am also sure they are losing more that a little product.Shop around before you go in this place, learn from others.
