We approached Brendan in 2021 to completely renovate a 2700 square foot house that had not been updated in 40 years and required substantial work. Brendan and his team were a pleasure to work with throughout the duration of our renovation. All sub-trades were excellent and Brendan provided valuable advice and guidance for additional work that was recommended. We are extremely satisfied with our final product and could not have asked for a better contractor to manage our renovation and stay close to our budget during times of product delays, labour shortages and price fluctuations. I am loving the cabin that Anckaert Built for me at the end of 2017/beginning of 2018! My first full year here has been so comfortable. I've been cool in the summer and very warm and cozy through the winter in my new nest!I was looking back over construction photos this weekend and remembering all of the excitement and trepidation of this project. I had never built a house before and even a SMALL house is a BIG job. Brendan's patience and level-headedness were vital components and the cheerfulness of Brendan's excellent crew made it a pleasure to be on site throughout the build. And all at a very fair price. Brendan and crew built an addition onto our house and it was an excellent, low-stress experience. From helping design the plans all the way through to completion, they were super professional, easy to work with, well organized and highly skilled. In 2021 Brendan and his team gutted our existing house and added a 2bed./2bath addition plus full basement. The house looks great and is very comfortable!The most important aspect of the project is that Brendan puts great effort into making sure the house is energy efficient. He installed all new energy efficient doors, windows, proper insulation inside and out(under wood siding), around windows, even spray foam in hard to insulate spots. All that and a ducted heat pump have made the house very economical to heat and cool. The energy rating on the house is better than the average new build.Brendan is professional, knowledgeable, skilled carpenter, a good problem solver, and honest. I would hire him and his hardworking crew anytime!
