I highly recommend this place. Supper cute place, great atmosphere and from the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. We went to eat out after our kids graduation so we wanted that something little special that this place certainly offered. Food was amazing, service attentive and overall ambiance added to our experience. We had five sharing plates, herring on toast, spatzle poutine, duck confit, celeriac stake and beer braised bison ribs. The traditional Dutch dishes are wonderfully adapted for modern taste. We also shared couple of delicious deserts. My husband is Dutch and he really enjoyed explaining to kids some of the origins of the dishes. We had such a good time, that me and my hubby went to Little Amsterdam a week later for a date night!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at the new restaurant, and I must say, it has great potential. With its Netherlands-inspired dishes, this place offers a unique culinary experience that sets it apart from other eateries in town. One dish that stood out during my visit was the Café Board. This delightful selection of freshly made smacks was a treat for the taste buds. The variety of flavors and textures showcased the chef's creativity and skill in crafting a memorable appetizer. However, not all dishes hit the mark. The Spätzle Poutine, while promising, lacked a bit of flavor and could benefit from a more generous serving of sauce. It had the potential to be a standout item on the menu but fell a bit short. On the other hand, the Beer Braised Short Ribs were a hit at our table. The tender, succulent meat soaked in flavorful beer jus was a true delight. It's a must-try for anyone visiting this restaurant. When it came to desserts, be prepared for large portions. The generous serving sizes ensured that no sweet tooth was left unsatisfied. However, I found the espresso while having an enticing aroma to be disappointingly bitter in taste.Regarding the service, it was acceptable, although there is room for improvement. Considering that the restaurant is relatively new, some hiccups can be expected. With time and experience, I'm confident the staff will refine their skills and deliver an even better dining experience. In conclusion, this new restaurant shows great promise with its Netherlands-inspired cuisine. While some dishes need a little tweaking, the Café Board and Beer Braised Short Ribs are definitely highlights worth trying. With a few adjustments and continued growth, this place has the potential to become a go-to spot for Dutch food enthusiasts.I look forward to the day they add bitterballen to the menu!

My recent experience at Little Amsterdam was absolutely wonderful. The establishment brings the unique charm and culinary offerings of the Dutch capital to our locality, and it has certainly become one of my favorite spots.

Fun place to dine at. A first of its kind in Ottawa. Good music, classics and new age great vibe. Service was authentic, friendly and to the time to chat and provide recommendations. The food was good a taste of the Netherlands. I ordered the kibbeling twice and the spatzle poutine . Both were excellent .

Last night's date night had us check out a new restaurant in the Market . There were some great Dutch inspired items on the menu (plus a great Belgian beer =)) and it was absolutely delicious!!!The kibbeling, stampot with Bison, pannekoeken with duck and Dutchie dessert were all absolutely delicious.Would love to come back to try the brunch as well as the haring sandwich.Lovely ambiance.

I have dined at Little Amsterdam twice now and cannot wait to go back! The decor is lovely, cozy, beachy + welcoming. The staff are top notch and the food was exquisite. Delicious options for vegetarians + vegans. The Bison short ribs are out of this world. Great wine + beer selections. Going back asap.

Great restaurant, menu and service. We went for the first time last night and really enjoyed it all. We had cocktails and a glass of wine. To eat we had warm olives and the bison selection and steak and frites. Would recommend for sure.Phil

Love this place! A friend and I had drinks and dinner on the quiet side patio last Friday evening and everything was fantastic. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of Gruner Veltliner, a light, refreshing Austrian wine that I was happy to find on the menu and we shared three hearty dishes: a cafe board, the rich spatzle poutine, the crispy duck and pannenkoeken and beer braised short ribs on a bed of stamppot. Everything was fabulous, although I admit we had to take the short ribs with us, we'd eaten so much of everything else that we could hardly eat a bite. The standout was the duck and pannenkoeken, just outstanding. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere outside on the patio was really lovely. Planning to go back next Saturday night with my Dutch hubby. The location on Dalhousie at St Andrew's Street is just far enough from the center of the Market that you have to go looking for this place, which makes it more of an adult restaurant. Totally worth the effort!
