Ru Soju Bar & Lounge

Really good food. I found some of it to actually be really cheap for what you're getting. The octopus pancake for $6 is a steal of a deal. Great presentation and flavor all around.

Visited before their hard opening. The menu is very Korean and most items are quite tasty. Sending things out hot enough seems to be a challenge but that happens with a new kitchen. Serving staff need to try everything on both the food and bar menus...too many I don't knows". The flavours are good and the Sojus are potent."

Nice atmosphere, good food, but it was really understaffed and they were out of a lot of things. There was no beer on tap, no simple syrup for cocktails, the sake wasn't heated up and they were out of original soju (but then suddenly they weren't).Anyway, I had the salmon poke bowl and it was great, so it almost made up for everything else.

Great place. Formerly was flip that was one of my favourite places in REGINA. I had two of the rolls. Forget exactly what was in each but I was very pleasantly surprised by both. All the seafood melted in your mouth. My friend had a poke bowl and absolutely loved it. I will be back the next time I am in REGINA and have recommended it to so many people. The server was awesome. We came in at lunch time and it was a little quieter which was nice.

I wrote the review below the line on March 16th. The owner reached out to me and I decided to give it another try. My daughter and I went there today to celebrate her last university final and it was a much better experience, I am happy to report. We got to the restaurant just before noon. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in, she took our drink order right away and when she brought the drinks, took our food order (all within the first 10 min of being there). Our food was brought out within 15-20 minutes of our ordering, which I think is acceptable. By the time our food came, the restaurant was quite full. You would need a reservation it seems. We shared a dynamite roll, and pork gyozas to start and then shared a beef bibimbap. All food was exceptionally good - the gyozas were significantly tastier than I've ever had before. All in All, I think they have redeemed themselves in my eye and I would recommend it now and would go back again. I would say the only downfall is the cost. Two iced teas plus the food mentioned above and it was a $50 lunch._______________________________________________________________________Went to Ru Soju today for lunch. I know they are still relatively new, so maybe don't have all the kinks worked out yet, but the service was terrible. We got there between 12:00 and 12:05. There were a few tables filled, but the restaurant was 1/2 full or less. Our server never came by our table until 12:30 and we never had our food yet at 1:00 - it came shortly after 1:00. For a downtown restaurant, that is not acceptable! We only get an hour for lunch. Once the food came it was really good which is why I'm giving them two stars.

A great Korean/Japanese place in the middle of downtown Regina. The Tuna Poke Bowl was tasty and they were able to also accommodate gluten intolerance dietary restrictions. Next time I'll have to try their Korean burger.

Definitely best sushi in the city. Creative and quality Japanese-Korean food. Great service as well!
