Way better than the one downtown, and this one is run by the original owner of both, so it makes sense! The chicken is always juicy and incredibly crispy without feeling heavy. She spent years working on her recipe and it shows. Great food served by an incredible family that give back to their community. We love Sahali Tongdak! Fried chicken perfection!

Has to be the best chicken in town. Unbelievably good breading and sauces and bone free. The owners are super friendly. Every time ive ordered it has been ready very quickly.

Sahali Tongdak Korean Fried Chicken
I was so excited to try this place. Korean fried chicken is my absolute favourite. They make amazing Original chicken, and the sprinkle of free fries was a nice touch! I ordered a full order and it would feed a family of 4 to 6, depending on appetite. I will need to downsize to a half as I have a lot of left overs! Will definitely order again!

It is very dangerous having this establishment next to a bookstore. Us bookworms can't help but follow the delicious aromas out from the stacks to the small but immaculately clean diner next door. The food here is fantastic and fresh (kitchen is open to view) and the owners are so friendly and welcome to answer questions about the spice combos and to recommend a flavour based on what you tell them about what you like and can handle. I love the number 3 combo so much that I have to tell myself often that I cannot survive on it alone. 100% recommend. You cannot be disappointed.

Sahali Tongdak Korean Fried Chicken
I really enjoyed this small, family-owned restaraunt. They make intensely flavourful food, which is a good addition to the neighbourhood (Kamloops is slowly increasing its collection of ethnic restaraunts). I had the tofu lunch special and I have to say, it was amazing tofu. The sauce was perfect. We also ordered the Jajangmyeon special with two chicken pieces (Tip: Remember to request the noodle option). The only two things that I feel could be improved upon is the quantity of vegan/vegetarian options and the portion sizes. I say this because, even though they were kind enough to swap out the two chicken pieces for one peice of tofu (totalling three squares of tofu), I feel the price did not adequately reflect the type of ingredients used in the meal. The portion sizes were quite small, even for the lunch special. I feel for the price of ten dollars plus tax (approximately) one should receive slightly more. Or, I would even accept the portion size if the price was lowered for the tofu special. I appreciate their willingness to accommodate my request to make the meal more vegetarian. I love Korean food and will keep this is my mind for future, healthier, fast-food meals.
