Houston Avenue Bar & Grill - Airport Montreal (YUL)
In contrast with many of the other reviews, I actually found the quality of the food quite decent here. I would say the quality is above average for most restaurants in airports. The ribs were truly fall-off-the-bone and quite decent. Surprisingly, the fish and chips were also quite good and served with a dill tartar sauce. I opted for side salads instead of the fries - the Caesar was nothing special. Croutons were crunch and overall tasted not bad. Where this place suffers is that I don’t think it’s set up well when there are a lot of travelers. Tables were very crammed together and waiting for the food took 30-45 minutes after ordering. The staff was very nice, but I could tell they were stressed.

I had the brie appetizer with a small Caesar salad! Both were delicious! I had the Key Lime for dessert with coffee and I was pleasantly impressed with both!

This place is a disgrace to the airport and the city of Montreal. I ordered chicken tacos and they were an insult to Mexican cuisine. The taco shells were microwaved until they became hard and dry, the chicken was drowning in a sweet chilli sauce that tasted like sugar and vinegar, and the service was atrocious. It took over an hour to get my food and the staff seemed to have no clue about what they were doing. No refills, not sure if it is a policy, but it seemed like it was. This is not what I expect from an airport restaurant, especially when I’m in a hurry. This place should be shut down immediately. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this nightmare.I gave one star because the restaurant was open, and many other places in the terminal were closed with staff doing sketchy cash only deals.

We had breakfast here at 5:50am in the airport while waiting to board our flight at 7:25 am. We waited in line for 15 min to get seated, then waited another 10 min to order breakfast, then waited 30 min to get our food. There were only 3 servers and the place was packed. We ordered a vegetarian omelette and a breakfast sandwich with 1 coffee and 1 latte. Food and portions were very average. It costs us $54 incl tip. See pictures I posted of our meals.

I've eaten lunch/dinner items here and the fish tacos are legit! After eating breakfast there I realized this left something to be desired. The steak (Ordered steak and eggs) which I requested 'medium' temperature ended up being 'well done'. It was, to put it plainly, tasteless. There was little if any seasoning on it and needed salt and pepper. The eggs were the same consistency as a free hotel buffet and I just wasn't impressed. I will eat here again and gave it 4* purely for the lunch/dinner menu and if I was the store manager I would be closed for breakfast.

Got the typical breakfast classics: 3 decker pancakes with ham, bacon and sausage, and a platter with 2 eggs, bacon and sausage with toast and potato wedges. Nothing special - the pancakes were cold and the potato wedges needed seasoning

The service was quick super quickWe ordered our Nachos appetizer and got it within 15min, i would have put a big more cheese and 2 cups of salsa instead of 1.We both ordered the mediteranean salmon and for my part, it was absolutely delicious. But the other salmon was not cooked. We returned and were told the plate would be done anew then 10 minutes later it came back with a surflow of veggies to hide that its been simply reheated. So they then made a whole new plate and the salmon was yet again still uncooked. I hope my girlfriend wont get sick because she took a bite of each uncooked fish...The restaurant manager did not even excuse himself but simply pointed out that we shouldve accepted the reheated plate from the first serving also that the new fish was edible.Thankfully the 2nd salmon plate was not charged and the appetizer was credited but we were left with a sour taste from the managment side of things...

My waitress was nice but other than that, it's nothing special for breakfast. It took over 30 min to get my breakfast meal and I noticed other tables who were seated and ordered after me get their meals first. Most of my meal was slightly burnt. Being a business owner, I try to be sympathetic because I know the staff shortage issue however I think there's a lack of leadership here. There were 5 waiters busting their butts but no one to greet at the front where people are getting to get seated. I've watched over 15 people waiting over 30 minutes for a table. No one even acknowledging them. Waiters try to get to these new costumers when they can but it's not very quick. Whoever manages the breakfast shift here should be organized and designate staff and their duties accordingly. And to the Kitchen, pls check what you cook before you serve it. If you wouldn't eat it, the client probably won't either. Sadly I only think I'll be coming back here if I have no other choice when I travel.So 5 stars for my waitress but everything else is really a 3 stars for me.

Good food, great service and located right next to boarding gates.Tried fish & chips. Fish was not bad, but the fries were really good. Haven’t tasted such good fries in a long time.Though the place was busy, the service was awesome and didn’t rush out of door after finishing the meal.The only thing they needed to fix is their card machine. Tap doesn’t work and card had to be held in position while entering the pin. This is the only reason for not giving 5 stars.

First of all I always loved to go to Huston anywhere in Montreal Brossard or Laval and I have been a good customer and even done events for business.Yesterday I was travelling from Montreal to Vegas and we wanted to charge our phones then the hostess was kind to find a table for us next to the wall plugs but to avoid that people walk on the phone charger then we decided to slightly go to the table that is empty by maybe 20 cm from the original table.As soon as we did that this hostess that didn’t even talk to us pushed my husband and took the silverware from his hands and insulted him as he is dirty and doesn’t respect hygiene out loud in front of the whole customer hood.I had literately go see her to say that she wasn’t nice or customer respected but instead insisted that we were dirty customer.On top of this they put 20% tip on the invoice without our permission or give us the choice because if it was up to us we don’t pay any tip or maybe lower than 20%I will be making an official complaint because that behavior is not like Huston especially at the airport location.
