I've been wanting to try The Sugar Factory for quite some time, I saw videos from friends who went to different locations while they were on vacation and I thought it looked like a neat experience. I ended up ordering the club sandwich, which was pretty good, but my friend who sat next to me ordered the cajun pasta and found it too spicy for her taste, so we swapped and I LOVED the pasta, I found it to be perfectly spiced and balanced with the richness of the cream sauce. I had this absolutely over the top concoction called The Pink Cloud and it was a little pricey for the amount of alcohol in it, in my opinion, but the drink was delicious nonetheless. While I found the food and drinks to be somewhat average, the staff more than made up for it. The waitstaff made my friend's birthday so special and their positive energy is contagious. I will definitely be back.

As soon as I found out Sugar Factory was coming to Detroit I was hyped. I heard so many amazing things about it from my friends and Food Network. The hype is real!Akeena was amazing as a bartender! All her recommendations were spot on! The American Honey cocktail was balanced and smooth. It was a cross between a ginger Tennessee and a chocolate shake. The burger was delicious. Every layer including the mac and cheese was great.. and had that fresh grilled taste. The hot chocolate and ice cream sandwich were a perfect way to end the meal... Just too much fun! It's clear why it shows up over and over as one of the most fun restaurants in America! Thank you for the incredible experience, and welcome to Detroit!

I had a family of 7 and no reservations were available for that number so I split up by requesting reservations for 4 and 3. The staff was able to accommodate us to sit all together when we arrived with no fuss, which was great. Donna was our server and she was great too- she had suggestions, was friendly, and attentive. My 11 year old daughter ordered chicken and waffles and didn't realize it would be come with a leg and thigh and that variety. She likes chicken breast. When we mentioned it, a manager came over to check and brought free chicken tenders even though she picked at each piece on her plate! The service was great all around. The food was really good, albeit expensive, especially with a 20% service charge added, but we knew that coming in and planned to enjoy the experience in downtown Detroit. My only real complaint is they did not have paper menus. It's hard when you are trying to look with 3 kids without phones (shocking, I know!) and a grandma that does not have a qr reader. Oh, and the chocolate overload was insane and well worth every penny!

First, Malcolm was extremely helpful and his energy was infectious! He was thorough in ensuring we (he as well as us) understood what we were getting. He also did a great job helping those selecting large goblets to find a drink that suited their flavor preferences. We had other friendly servers stop by occasionally to ask us how we were, but we didn’t feel overly “checked on”. VIP Manager Darius was very informative and welcoming as well. Selection and food quality was very good. Timing of food delivery was good although the dishes didn’t come out at the same time (they were drastically different types of food). This is definitely ideally stationed to be a place to come for a special celebration. This isn’t a place to make your regular hangout, although you could if you wanted because the food is varied and tasty. Kids will love the candy in the drinks which are very expensive and very large. Ours each bubbled for over an hour! (Dry ice still had the bottom of the cup frozen.)I recommend this as a place to come for a fun time, any time—especially if you’re young or young at heart! We had one of the first reservations of the day during the soft opening when it wasn’t too busy and I could see some of the front-of-house staff were still getting comfortable in their jobs. Give it time and I hope it will get better when it’s busy. I can’t wait for their expanded brunch menu, but the crepes were great and they had a great selection of items to suit almost any taste for any meal already!

The food was great! The drinks were wonderful. Our host was outstanding!!! Jason!! He was fabulous! My daughter turned 16 this day and she’s still a little shy but he made sure she was celebrated and that our family was well taken care of. Such a pleasant personality. The restaurant itself was so pretty and decor was glamorous. We had a good time.

Had an amazing experience today at The Sugar Factory Downtown Detroit! Our server was Nashima!!! On top of great service, amazing ambiance and upbeat music, the food was So Delicious. ($$)prices were slightly Less Expensive than I initially found online… I had the Firecracker Shrimp Stir Fry, My Baby got the Hot Cheetos Burger and My friend got the Turkey Burger. The Fries were a bit plain but they were a good size and a good serving amount! My daughter got the Tie Dye Milkshake! So much joy was all over her face throughout the experience. I had the Cali Calm Goblet it’s Green Apple Flavored and My friend got the Kevin Heart Peach Lemonade Goblet with his featured Tequila! Great place to meet and Eat! And all the photo ops!!! KAWS (Statue “Waiting” by KAWS ) out front of this beautiful building downtown is a great place to get a snap shot (landmarks of Downtown in the D). Plus the glowing Sugar Factory sign. Don’t let me forget to mention the bar, they have a bar, plenty of seating. All drinks were alcoholic and Available NON Alcoholic! Smoking drinks, decorated milkshakes and they sing for Birthday People!!! I loved it !!! And I loved how happy my daughter was!

I had a great experience. The servers were good. The food was yummy with big portions sizes. The dessert was awesome. I will go again and tell others to do the same.

The atmosphere and servers we’re nice but I would not go back for food. Everyone with me food is not pictured but the appetizers down to the main course meal was nasty honestly. Definitely not worth the money, this place is expensive and overhyped for what they serve. Only positive thing I can say is that the drinks were good. So if you having a night out and just want to grab a drink this might be the spot for you with the huge selection of drinks but that’s all.

My family has been to another location. This place definitely did not hold up. The heat is broke, so bring a jacket. No silverware. We got plastic forks for our meal. We only got cocktail napkins, no regular napkins. The food was warm at best. They could not substitute very simple requests. And they where out of the gluten free buns that are an option on the menu. Drinks where nice. Appetizers where passable. Main dishes where bordering on disgusting. Lettuce wrap has brown Lettuce. Pasta was watered down. Medium burger was almost raw. The dressing was overpowering.
