Archadeck of Nova Scotia

Our first-contact with Archadeck was the 2019 Halifax Spring Home-Show, where/when we met our very knowledgeable and personable consultant, Laura. Although it took 18 months for my wife and I to figure out exactly what we wanted, Laura never wavered and worked with us to ensure complete pre-construction satisfaction.Demolition and construction started in April and a few shorts weeks later, Phase 1 of our dream backyard was complete. Our assigned carpenter Bob reminded me of my Father and Grandfather, both of whom were professional carpenters; meticulous attention to detail as if he was working at his own home.There’s an old adage that states, “You get what you pay for.”; working with Archadeck is proof positive of that reality. We are absolutely thrilled with the Archadeck process/results and look forward to Phase 2 of our backyard.

We contacted Archadeck to replace an existing deck that had started to deteriorate. We indicated what we wanted and Archadeck came up with a design with input from us. Actually there were several designs presented to us, each one simulated as if it were already attached to our house, so we were able to see what the finished product would look like. Although it was a fairly lengthy process, all details were discussed so we knew exactly what we were getting. When the construction started, we were kept informed with the progress, and were impressed with the caliber of the carpenter who was very competent and courteous. The carpenter and the Construction Manager were always available to answer any questions we had and were very accommodating. We were very impressed with the completed deck, and feel that up front planning, good design and management, and the competent carpenter were responsible for the good result.

Archadeck perfectly represented our vision for our new deck. Everyone we dealt with was professional and happily answered all of our questions. No surprises and every step of the project was explained. The crew who built the deck were great and a real pleasure to deal with.The new deck has transformed our backyard and we are very glad we chose Archadeck.

Archadeck rebuilt my old back deck and added a beautiful gazebo with a stone fireplace inside it. The masonry on the fireplace was a work of art! We are very happy with the gazebo. Most importantly, the team was very responsive during the project, always arriving when they said they would, and always keeping me informed about any delays (which were unavoidable during the pandemic, but I appreciated the transparency and the responsiveness of the team.) This was probably the biggest reason why I went with Archadeck - to be sure I would get a timely response when I called or emailed about the project, and they did not disappoint in that area. They were very accessible and reliable and always responded right away.

We are so thrilled with our new outdoor addition. As promised Archadeck had our deck completed very early this spring and the craftsmanship and quality of the materials cannot be disputed. Archadeck responded to any concern we had in a timely fashion and we would not hesitate to recommend Archadeck for any project. While we knew the cost was more than a local contractor we had confidence in Archadeck's total package to complete all aspects of the job with an attention to detail that we truly appreciated

Our experience with Archadeck from our first call to the completion of our project has been without a doubt an excellent one. We had railings with glass panels installed on our front steps. From our initial meeting with Dan, Project Developer, the help and suggestions with the design as well as the experienced and courteous installers and Lauren, Construction Coordinator, our project was stress free. We would certainly highly recommend Archadeck.

We had a deck replaced in Oct 2019 after many months of waiting. It was initially to be part of bigger exterior renovation/siding project but we parted ways at a significant cost to us. The only way to recoup some of that cost was to go ahead with the deck. They used subcontractors. The inspector failed it for missing joist hangers and nails, stairs installed not to plan and unsafe and several other features not built according to plan. It was probably a month after the deck was finished" that it finally passed inspection. Now with the deck less than 3 years old

We're very pleased with the new sunroom addition that Archadeck completed for us. We worked with them during all phases of the project, from design to construction, and we found them to be very accommodating and professional throughout. All of this during a difficult time for the construction industry (COVID), which we knew created a number of issues in terms of materials availability and high number of projects. We contracted with them to remove our old deck and replace it with a new and better one. They were extremely responsive to our needs and any questions along the way. Our need for a reinforced section for our Hot Tub was well-accounted for right away in the design process, and the whole thing was beautifully designed and laid out.On the construction itself, their contractors were great and the work excellent. When there were a few (very minor, but still) post-install issues, they were addressed quickly and efficiently.I will be looking into them for any future work we need for our home.
