Upper York School
I studied at this school for three years until I graduated, and it was a warm and helpful school. when I first came to Canada, my English was very poor, and the ESL teachers, Ms. Tara and Ms. Christen, took care of me and made my English better. The staff and our principal Lydia, are very caring, and they keep an eye on students' moods, stress, etc. It is very touching for an international student to be alone in a foreign country, and to have many people to help and care for you in your life and studies.

UYS is a very good private high school. Every student is taken care of by the teachers both in school and in life. I really like Ms. Habbi and Ms. Tara, who have helped me a lot with my studies in math and literature respectively.

A caring and exceptional private school! I had my G11 and G12 here and met my English teacher Mrs. Coratti who truly made a difference to me. Also the mathematical knowledge and skills taught by my math teacher was so helpful to my learning in university.

I had a very memorable time at this school! I went to Upper York School when the pandemic was still very serious. The instructors here were very helpful, not only in my academic studies, but also in my daily life, so that I could get used to the new environment and pursue my studies as a Chinese student. Although I have graduated from this school, I still come back to visit my alma mater from time to time because I have so many good memories here.

There’s no regard for students or staff at this school, getting parents to pay high tuition is what it’s about. Teachers are nice but low paid and overworked. Some students are great, other students don’t care. Check out the facebook negative reviews for more opinions. Best to save your money and attend a free public school where they have good English (ESL) and other programs.

A truly remarkable private school and amazing teachers, my nephew went to summer school there and was impressed by the professionalism and responsibility of the teachers and staffs there, and said that he would like to go there again next summer.
