Another piece of Junk Arts costs $1/2 millions taxpayers, designed by a New Yorker. 4 RustyBeams sitting on a highway while driving @100kWatch out the sliding rocks as the bolts screws(rusted in future)and hit your windshields. They should erect a sign”watch for falling rocks”. Cityof Calgary really have expensive ugly Arts andArts department employees with bad taste. 1%of City budget is too much for taxpayers, hopeWe know who to vote next election.

Bowfort Towers
Triassic Towers, a tall, sturdy, sculpture erected in 2017 by artist Del Geist, welcomes western travelers from their recent mountain escape to the city of Calgary on Highway 1 at the very edge of the city. Artists Del Geist and Patricia Leighton indeed did their research into the land and honored its history, industry, and economy with the carefully considered production of the piece, which was entirely constructed using Calgary local companies.

As divisive as this piece of art may be, it's quite a beautiful and tortured piece and I'm ultimately glad it exists. It also seems to be playing a big part in making sure that public art in Calgary is even better. Let's not rate this piece poorly and complain, as that may mean less art for everyone. Let's support it and critique it, and hope for more art and better processes in our city.

It looked to me like several beat up vehicles on display. Initially, I thought it was a strong message against drinking and driving until I got a closer look.I prefer something that represents Calgary in that location since it's the first thing you see driving into the city.

...So we have this expensive and questionable-looking art piece beside some Highway interchange instead of spending it towards ACTUAL parks and recreation, low-income services, or Police/Fire resources, all of which we've cut... very cool.

Very ugly, but could be considered inventive if the artist wasn't just copying what he's already done over and over. What's really sad is, something like this should be done by a local, or at least by a Canadian.

I thought it was a pile a rubble. So I took a dump on it only to be arrested for desecrating" a so-called meaningful structure and I later found out my money was stolen when making this involuntarily."
