I recieved care through the satellite location, in Airdre, with Jenny. it was a spectacular experience. I always felt heard, cared for, and safe. Jenny always listened and would support you and your feelings, even through things unrelated to your pregnancy - family member death, traumatic experiences etc. She was always there for me - never before have I recieved such genuine care from a medical professional.

I absolutely loved my experience at Honeycomb. I applied through the online AHS portal and shortly after was contacted by Tiffany. We had a great telephone conversation and I knew she and Emi were the team for me. I felt very taken care of through my pregnancy. They answered my questions and provided resources when needed. Once I hit 41 weeks and was starting to lose my mind, the regular visits and open discussions of my options helped ease my anxiety. My husband and I planned on a home birth and when I went into labour Tiffany was the midwife on call. She and her student arrived and joined my husband and our doula. We did everything we could to welcome our son at home but he had other plans and we transferred to hospital. Tiffany made sure the transfer of care was seamless and she stayed with us and supported us through our entire experience. Even though the labour didn't go as planned, I can look back positively on the experience because I felt so heard and so supported by Tiffany! Once our baby arrived we had our home visits and Tiffany and Emi helped us navigate through those difficult first few days. I loved my experience at Honeycomb and would highly recommend Tiffany and Emi!

I was with Jenny in the satellite clinic in Airdrie. She was absolutely amazing to work with. The home visits she provided were incredible as I live 45 minutes from the city and it was so helpful to not need to travel in the first week. She was knowledgeable and kind. Having a midwife made my first pregnancy and postpartum experience extremely positive and I felt cared for every step of the way

A huge MEH to Honeycomb Midwives. This is not the type of place or care I am looking for to deliver a baby, no less my first baby. I didn't want three midwives and a student - you lose the whole point of a midwife which is continuity of care! My weight wasn't taken, I was given incorrect information regarding my Netcare and I was literally 'spoken at' for 20 minutes like it was a sales pitch. This place is run out of a basement right off 16th Ave in a old house that desperately needs a good scrub and renovation. For my initial assessment I had to sit on a futon that was covered in a blue tarp like material. Worth the drive out to Cochrane or Airdrie for the care you are likely looking for...trust me

I was very fortunate to have my first child with their care. Savannah and Bailey were great during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. They were very caring and they really knew how to handle everything that came up. As a first time mom, I felt very safe and they were awesome during the whole process. Home visits were great and very helpful, and I really liked that they also care about how we're handling everything and how we feel during all stages.

I had a great birth with my midwives. I never thought I’d have a natural birth, but I did and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The midwives were great and helped me to have my healthy baby boy. I did feel like one of them didn’t like us and were annoyed by us, but meh. As long as I had a smooth labour (which I did) and a healthy baby (which I did) that’s all that mattered.

We weren’t happy with the way our labour was handled and the postpartum care (lack of) that we received from midwife “A”.I called midwife A to let her know I was in labour (I had been labouring for a good 18hrs regularly) but not meeting their criteria (more frequent but contractions were short). I thought a heads up would be nice for her as well. she told me to just take Tylenol and gravol because I didn’t meet their labour criteria because I could talk through them, no assessment done really. Told me I shouldn’t count my contractions if I could talk through them. She pretty much told us not to call her back the first time we called. Not everyone meets your criteria when in active labour and should be assessed. Didn’t seem to believe I was as far along as I was both times I called her that night, and she didn’t seem to want to assess me when I was in active labour after calling her a second time. We had to tell her on the phone we were going to go to the hospital and only then we were assessed at home. I wanted pain meds if I wasn’t far enough along to be admitted so I could rest. I am not sure how I was to get analgesic if no one would assess me at my home and if I wasn’t supposed to go to the hospital? I felt like I was being denied basic care. I found out later there is a resident midwife that could have assessed me at the hospital. Encouraged me to continue to labour at home when I was 6-7 cm even though my birth plan was a hospital birth. I would have had my baby at home had I stayed any longer. Was discharged at 6:30 am, 2 hours after a very short labour and delivery at the hospital. Had no help for breastfeeding for more than 24 hours post birth. Told midwife A postpartum day 1 I was in lots of pain from nursing. She watched me attempt to latch baby, told me I was wrong and latched him for me, maybe 2 min of teaching in all. I then wasn’t seen for another 48 hours, then had a ~15 min check up in which no breastfeeding was done/ or education. We ended up deciding to hire a private lactation consultant for basic breastfeeding help (at a cost to us).At 2 week check-up brought up concerns re latch, extended nursing sessions and possible low supply. I feel this was not addressed properly. At 5 weeks found out my baby had an undiagnosed posterior tongue tie and 3rd degree lip tie that was missed, which were causing the issues we had been having! Now I’m working to build my milk supply which hasn’t been easy. However, Midwife “B” was amazing! her postpartum visit at the end of the first week was great. We had so much hands on breastfeeding teaching. She was at our house for sometime making sure we were well equipped. We were extremely happy with her care through my pregnancy and postpartum. She was always so helpful, very knowledgeable and it’s obvious she enjoys her job. I really appreciated her as a first time mother. I’m not sure why there was such a difference between the care we received between the two midwives. Our experience with midwife A was very disappointing as we felt we would have received more care and assistance if we had midwife B for the entire time or went the route of an OB and stayed on the postpartum unit where help would be available to us. We felt we had a rough start because we were pretty much abandoned those first few days postpartum and we were also not happy with the unnecessary stress during labour.

I had a wonderful experience with Christy/Heather/Cassie (and their student Erin). I felt completely cared for before, during and after the birth of my daughter. I felt relieved to have a team that supported my choices and I never felt like I had to battle them to honor my wishes. Special thanks to the student Erin who delivered my baby! It was wonderful to have the support of these midwives, especially as a first time mom with a lot of worries and questions.

So grateful to Honeycomb and my team (Christy, Heather, Cassie and Erin) who took absolutely outstanding care of me during what ended up being a tricky, high risk pregnancy. Their expertise, experience and empathy made me feel physically and mentally supported throughout. I will never forget what they did for me and my family in helping me navigate the medical system and supporting my choices and preferences even in difficult circumstances. Truly lovely people!

I am so grateful to Tiffany and Emi (Team 4). These midwives provided the most supportive health care I have ever experienced. As a first time mom, I was unsure about what type of pregnancy care I wanted, but I am so happy I went with Honeycomb. Any worries or questions that arose between appointments, were always answered very promptly either by email or phone which always gave us immediate peace of mind.I was nervous to give birth but my midwives approached pregnancy as a normal process, conveyed a sense of calm and empowered me to make birth choices that were best for me. I am certain that their (evidence-based) wisdom saved me from needing a bunch of undesired interventions. I am so happy to have had a safe home birth experience with absolutely no complications. I will forever be grateful for Tiffany and Emi for everything they did for our family.
