The Convent

What a absolute gem of a place! Not only was the location beautiful, very close to Grasslands National Park, but the owner went above an beyond to make us feel so welcome. They were so accommodating and helpful. We got a flat tire and they loaned us their pump, called the mechanic, and even offered us a free night's stay because we had lost most of our day. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The food was great! The architect and interior is beautiful and original to the building. There is a non-denominational chapel upstairs which is so calm and peaceful. Everything about this place was a 10/10!

A great historical building that is as comfortable as it is beautiful. The owners are beyond accommodating. We were stranded because of an unexpected spring snow storm and had no where to stay. The owner not only gave us the nicest room, but we also got a really great deal! There were a large amount of common spaces that included a tv with Netflix, a bunch of books and comfortable couches.

Historic school built in 1939 and converted to an inn in the 1970s. Antique rooms, great beds and cool nights. Stay here if you're in the area. Breakfast is hearty!If you went to a school building in the early 20th century, then this will remind you of that time.

This is a special place. It has an amazing history (check out their web site for the story) and is now run by the delightful family that spared this historic treasure from the wrecking ball.The guest rooms are simple (it was a Convent, after all) but comfortable, and the erstwhile school portion of the building provides lots of large spaces that have been converted to lounges and a dining room. The bathrooms are shared, but that just suits the ambience to a ‘T’.As for location, the Inn is perfectly situated as a base for exploring the exquisite Grasslands National Park.We will definitely stay there again if we ever find ourselves back in Saskatchewan to visit the Grasslands National Park!

A fantastic one-of-a-kind property. The staff is very responsive and friendly and the rooms (in a former convent school) are very comfortable. An easy drive to the amazing Grasslands National park, but the Concent Inn is almost worth the trip in and of itself. Highly recommended.

This hotel is really amazing and very comfortable. Built in 1939 as an old high school. It is a ideal place to stay if you like the adventures in Grassland national park. Every night includes a decent breakfast to start your day. The people that work in the hotel are friendly and they make your stay have a family environment.

The inn is located right beside the Grassland National Park. There are restaurant and grocery store in town. Lots of amazing trails to hike. Adam is an excellent host who also cooks awesome breakfasts. We have visited the Convent Inn two times with our kids and both times we had a great time. The place is calm and relaxing. We will definitely visit it again!

Loved my time here. So peaceful. My room was beautiful and the scenery awe inspiring. And the breakfast? Very delicious and so filling I didn't have to have lunch that day. The people who run the place are lovely too. I would love to go back. Maybe someday.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Building has fascinating history and immense character, so charming to stay in and a completely unique experience. Rooms were lovely, fantastic location in little Val Marie on the doorstep of Grasslands. Adam the innkeeper was unbelievably hospitable, kind, and welcoming, and made our stay very enjoyable. Lots of shared space in the inn makes for meeting others easy. Overall an amazing place and would love to stay here again, 10/10, would recommend.

Tons of charm! I love the historic convent building and it's a wonderful place to be if you're doing anything in the Grasslands National Park down the road. The owners are extremely friendly and it's a beautiful area. Also relatively affordable. They need a new mattress in room number 1 though, with two people in the bed I was awake all night.
