Lakeside Restaurant
Food was absolutely amazing. Our server was extremely friendly and sweet. Deducted one star for very slow service at beginning that was eventually fixed up. Appetizer/drinks were initially not served with napkins (I don’t enjoy having water drips all over the table and greasy fingers). Wonderful outdoor entertainment!

After a day of sailing with or Cape Breton Sainling Charters Food was wonderful. Service is kind and accommodating a skilled and amazing team. What more can you ask for.

Everything is amazing. We love the seafood chowder, halibut, seafood Mac and bies. The service is also excellent. The kids portion is big! Highly recommend.

So far this season I have ate here at least once per week. I have tried most of the menu, and there are no bad choices. Top picks: potato salad, oysters, lobster, fried chicken, burgers, chocolate cake.

Four of us had worst experience at the Lakeside restaurant. All servers ignored us for at least 10 mins. Restaurant wasn't busy and people came after us are all seated and ordered. A server stood at the front desk, staring at us but not coming to take our orders, we didn't even get our cutlery at that time. My father expressed his anger, so someone eventually came over. Very disappointing about unfair service, it's true race is anything.

We recommend you take the time to check this spot out. Provides both indoor and outdoor space. Great menu and the food presentation was top notch. We hit the patio for an afternoon of live music and cocktails running 3p-6p.As Hospitality Professionals we were disappointed that our lunch order was not put through and we were not told until the kitchen was closed for the dinner turnover. Kudos to the Manager who saved the afternoon and had us staying for dinner!!Check out the Sea-Cuterie Board, Layered Potato Salad, and hand cut Fries!!

The manager was rude and grumpy. Gave us an hour to wait before giving us a table. Was hoping to have good food despite the wait but food was mediocre and burnt. Our waiter Hunter was great, he was always smiling!I watched this rude manager thank every customer Caucasian and French Canadian as they walked out the door. When we were leaving, he purposely pretended to look behind his counter so as not to see us leave. We are Canadians of Asian decent and spoke to him in a good natured manner only to be treated unkindly by this Racidt manager. I heard the people in Vape Breton were nice to their fellow Canadian visitors. This Rude Racist manager just ruined our first evening in Baddeck

I will start off by saying that the location and view was nice.The food is insanely overpriced. They have vegan alternatives on their menu but it is basically anything that is not vegan removed and you are charged the same price. We got the Tuscan pasta which originally has chicken, vegetables, pesto, sun-dried tomato white wine cream sauce, with parmesan. I specifically asked the waiter, Hunter, if the vegan version would still come with the sun-dried tomato white wine sauce without the cream. He said yes, so I proceeded to order. Then we get our pasta and there is NO sauce. Not a single lick of sauce in sight. Just olive oil and a few veggies. I am like okay, fine at least it's still a vegan option. Then we get the bill still $25!!!! $25 for some loose penne, olive oil, and a couple veggies. I asked him if that was correct and he said yes - because we added a BUNCH more veggies.....where?? Where, Hunter? WHERE? There is no way that the amount of veggies added equates to the same cost as a chicken, two sauces, and Parmesan. Hunter was friendly and very smiley but felt completely mislead. Cape Breton is a mess for vegan options so go grocery shopping before you go there and bring your own food.Overall, disappointing, tasteless, expensive experience.

Excellent afternoon on the patio. Great entertainment with Andrew Doyle and great service from Laura. Food was excellent- the sea-ceuterie platter and layered potato salad were top notch! Highly recomend

This was a really crummy dining experience. We ordered the fried oysters and while they were tasty there were only 4 on the plate. At $15 this is highway robbery. After waiting a very long time (30-40 minutes) our main dishes arrived. The salmon was nice and cooked properly, but the mounds of pea and mint risotto was unbelievably bland and overcooked. My sister's halibut was overcooked. Our server was given little support from her coworkers and manager, left instead to rush around her tables but neglect us. We were not offered dessert or coffee or after dinner drinks. Given the prices of this restaurant I am EXTREMELY disappointed.
