I called to book an appointment with an asian lady at reception today on Wed, Jun 28 at 4:15pm. She was very condescending and spoke down to me the entire time and made me feel very small. I had a panic attack midway and she seemed very pleased with herself after. Her voice softened an suddenly turned 'kind' after. Then, about 20 minutes later, i called to reschedule the appointment to another location via voice message. What ended up happening was i was never able to speak to anyone but had my appointment cancelled without my knowledge. It feels like this organization is using scheming tactics to turn people down. Now it says i need to wait 30 days to book another appointment.

On Wednesday, people in the priority line can't go until 2pm. I have been told it's because the volunteers are so busy when the foodbank first opens. That really doesn't make any sense to me.Today I got food for myself and my son. It will probably last until Saturday. It would be nice to have enough fruit, so that each of us could have 3 or 4 pieces. It would also be nice if everyone was treated with respect, compassion, and courtesy. A smile and a kind word goes a long way.

Vancouver struggles every week with the amount of people they help. For me a single middle age male there is not much but they do a great job helping seniors and young children first. I'm 100% behind that and dont complain. It's also a hard location. Big props to volunteers.

Grateful for the food but the staff here has extreme superiority issues. You're a volunteer bud, calm down. They will actually try and tell you that you cannot stand on a public sidewalk, and 5 of them will accost you if you don't move. It's pathetic in all honesty.

I had an excellent experience with Vancouver food bank. When there where rough days I was always able to have something to eat thanks to them. The food was always so delicious, I never had a bad meal from them and I recommend it to anyone that needs food. THE BEST!

As a pensioner no one will ever let you know that the Gordon Neighborhood house food bank had closed at the beginning of COVID19 and was deemed condemn to never reopen. So 3 years pass and hoping that it would soon reopen. To no avail as the entire Westend residents whom had food insecurities were not informed in any shape or informed about the fact that the Vancouver food bank main office had changed the manner in which the food distribution was to operate.I was told that the program was existent for all the residents of the Westend at a location near the downtown area. I am truly uncomfortable in divulging it's location because it is not for me to open up it's location for the issue of the utmost respect towards the volunteers and the same in the manner in which the operation is serving many in dire needs my spewing the place would create more trouble than it doesn't deserved. There's a process by which anyone can be assessed. It really is a very very great service and I am truly fortunate to have been able to go to this place for relief and destress from the lack of basic necessity. There's two facts that defines our lives in Vancouver. Those whom have it all blind to the ones who now have nothing more than what is the waste from the upper hand gaining priority the ability in the ignorance of us.No more middle classOther you buy the unwanted food from Nester or IGA evenWhole food past due date ending in No Frills storeOr keep buying butter at 8.75Organically grown fruits & vegetables from the market on weekends while the junky in the park nearby is bathing in his own fleeces and what you're unaware of is the person who you deemed a sore to your eyesight is a friend's son or daughter whom never ever spoken of her daily gloom and doomed decent into the rabbit hole the hellish crisis that voluntary or not actively has the greatest maliciously malicious salacious slithering sense of entitlement gifted with a veil of deceit precludes its might to lure grasp and fangled itself on the minds of each of its victims and in a instance a single breath enchanting a feel that will ensure that even the soul has bled dryer in a way it's never ever given a flow of light as a well enough it brewed darker than the abbyss voided of waste is full of deaths in the depth of Noth in a cloak made of hollowed dust

This place is totally now too far for ppl with mobility issues, they make u stand out in the pouring rain getting soaked and for ppl with Disabilities - there are no washrooms for someone who is travelling far to come! Also, u guys need to re-open the location at Gordon House since ppl with mobility issues cannot go down to Terminal. Things need to change, ppl should not have to starve. The Westend is already pricey for everything! We have to get this back at this location!

some of the volunteer are incompetent, I’ve had people cutting off in front of me in the line. when I brought it up to the volunteers, they didn’t do anything about it except giving me attitude for telling them.Sabrina the manager is completely useless with a bad attitude and the French Canadian guy with glasses as a severe power trip problem.A volunteer came up to me when I was sitting 150 meter from the food bank door waiting for it to open and they told me to move, cause I was too close to a near by business.
