Went into the home today to see a client. I was told I was not allowed to sit with the client to cue her to eat. They don't want a person sitting there as it ruins the look of the dining room. Before I was told to leave, two of the four mugs on the table were still dirty and the young man had to get new ones. One client had no silverware but given a bun and butter. Only one of the four server's had their masks on properly. After the meal I went to find the client hadn't eaten any of her meal. I had to leave and asked the man Pablo if someone could make sure she got back to her room. He shrugged and said yeah, never even looking up to me, was very strong smelling with cologne which was odd as most places are scent free now. I don't normally mind but his bothered me enough to throw my mask out in the trash outside. I asked the man if they had options for someone to be with the client to encourage eating..he said not our problem that's up to the son. I was shocked at how unprofessional he was in every aspect of him interacting with me. I worked there back in 2002 and the place has gone downhill. The food looked and smelled good just the staff on the door need to learn proper respect and maybe a How to wear a mask lesson. In my job I see many people looking for homes I won't refer them here. I feel making sure a person is eating should be more important than someone in scrubs sitting beside a client.

I have been here, walking my dog, only on the outside. From what I find out, they take excellent care of their tenants. A little too expensive for me. I only live on government benefits. But if you want to live here, after owing and selling your property, it is a good location to settle down for a much better and easier life.

A young man in the kitchen stole my heart while I was visiting my parents. They have since passed away but I keep coming to this establishment everyday just to see him. Even though he doesn't seem to notice me, I still get flustered everytime I see him. He reminds me of my youth when things were simpler, when I didn't have a single worry in my mind. The winds of time haven't been very kind to me, but he has offered me respite in these hard times. Even if my day hasn't been going very well, seeing him makes it the best day of my life. I haven't felt like this since my teenage years, so this is for you Jaloleddin. Hope we can join each others embrace one day and live out the rest of our lives together as one.

Staff are wonderful and work incredibly hard to keep everyone happy. New management has impossible expectations as to what can reasonably be accomplished - possibly because the parent company is American, and their main focus is the bottom line. This used to be a great place 3 years ago. Not so much now.Food has gone downhill, and there are not enough staff anymore. There were buckets in the hallways on and off for 2 years, as pipes in the ceilings leaked. This is not acceptable in a building for seniors, many of whom do not see as well, and who use walkers, and canes.

There was a young charming gentleman that serves me everyday, but makes me self conscious because of how good he looks. I get jealous and sometimes think of framing him for Francis' murder. I believe his name started with a J. His name tag read something around i belive, jeylldin. I have attached a photo of him.

The food was not great at the best of time. For some reason, this is the only facility in lock down". All others have open their dining room in seating. It is very bad for those living alone not able to get out. It has been over 2 1/2 months

This place went downhill after new ownership and management took over. Most Residents were hit with large rate hikes. I know a person who had their rent raised from $3200 per month to $3900. Which represents almost 25% from one month to the next. If You would think it wouldn’t be legal, you would be wrong. All they do is raise the price of food and services, not the “rent” per say, keeping it legal. Some of the long term employees left. A place that was once fairly happy to live in and work seemingly had a change of attitude. Its trickledown effect along with elderly now living in fear of unaffordable rate hikes makes for not optimal living conditions. All of this is made worse by the fact that since new management the quality of the food is not good. Where as they used to make many things fresh, most is prefrozen and brought in.The vegetables are mostly frozen or root vegetables. Bread etc used to be made on premises, no more. Some people have stood up during meals demanding better food. Management was recently seen at The Grand Canal in Welland, purporting to be looking for a family member,.. hopefully they were looking on how to improve. It could be a nice place to live again, as it used to be. Right now I wouldn’t consider it. Definitely not worth the money. I dislike leaving negative reviews but I felt this very important.

This place has plummeted from the Home it once was-house cleaning only cleans the centre of the room that is visible-dust bunnies under the bed and other furniture are disgusting-when You mention anything They tell You that they are short staffed. Turn over of staff is like a revolving door-think twice about putting Your loved one here.Do not recommend!

My mother lived at Anchor Pointe for 15 years. She actively participated in many of the wonderful activities that were provided for the residents. She enjoyed the exercise program, she created a small group that crafted a quilted wall hanging that is still there, she enjoyed many of the bus journeys around Niagara and participated in their many community outreach programs. She also enjoyed her Friday morning hair appointments, a ritual that she had her entire life! The staff became like family, not only to her but to our family as well. We felt comfort in knowing that mom was well cared for and safe, even during tough times like the pandemic. I can not say enough good things about Anchor Pointe and the entire team. I highly recommend this as a home for anyone who wants to enjoy their retirement living!

The staff are superb. When any issue has arisen it is resolved by the on site manager and his staff. Anchor Pointe in St Catharines is far superior to any retirement home that we examined in Toronto and St Catharines. You might see the odd comment about food recently due to turnover in the kitchen but that situation is being addressed. It is a challenge to serve well over 100 people at each meal offering various choices and catering to the various dietary, medical and allergy needs and preferences. All new furnishings in the dining area make for a nice atmosphere and were a pleasant surprise for my mother. The needs of the elderly are challenging but the staff, while run off their feet, are most pleasant and accomodating. Its almost an impossible task to create perfection with the requirements of so many diverse people but it's not for any lack of effort by this manager and his staff. A+++
