Hamilton branch has the worst customer service they consistently disappoint.

Disappointing service. Slow communication and lack of knowledge. The BMO Branch on Denman street has much better advisors.Waited ~2 months to get a credit card with BMO but was told after this time that I had no chance and even a secured credit card was out of the question. I was even told by the branch manager that every option had been explored and that I was basically asking the impossible. What made this process even more frustrating is the slow communication and having to regularly reach out to the advisor for an update. The fact that I couldn’t get a credit card made zero sense as I have had credit cards in Canada before moving to the US, have a good job, am a Canadian citizen and have a great credit history. I decided to go to the BMO branch on Denman street and in 4 weeks I had a BMO Eclipse credit card in hand. If you unfortunately have to do business with BMO I recommend going to the branch on Denman street instead.

Absolute worst branch. For the last 3 years, every time I've gone it they've asked me to update my address because for some reason they only have my address from 5 years ago on file... which is in a completely different province. Always get contradicting advice between different tellers and online banking. Overall worst customer service I've ever received.

This branch of BMO has the best customer service of any bank I’ve experienced. The staff are very friendly and have gone above and beyond to assist me. The staff often follow up with an email afterwards and offer their contact information in case any follow-up is required. I’ve also never had to wait for teller service at this location, and the branch is clean and inviting.

Poor Customer Services and Incompetent staff._____ Here is the story: I had someone steal my debit card info online so I went into the bank and asked them to cancel my card and reorder another one. I was told all was fine and not to worry anymore. 3 days later I get another unauthorized transaction on my account and another one 5 days later, then I was told the teller hadn't shut my card down all the way and that’s why the scam people were able to use it again. Not only that she debited my checking and savings for my paycheck when she was only suppose to cash it over the counter and now I'm stuck paying overdrafts fees and debits that shouldn't have been on there.The girl needs to be fired or trained really well again because she just cost me a lot of money.. I don't know what kind of business they're running here, but they have lost me as a customer. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Worst bank ever basically. 3-4 hour phone times. Will cut you off your online banking completely for normal transaction and if you send or receive money you might have to wait at least 3 hours for funds to be sent or received etc. It would be OK if they had call center staff but nope they think it's fine to cut staff and say it's because of covid. I couldn't think of a more work from home" job. More like you want to save money and pass off your clients or just don't care if they wait on the phone for hours. Saving a few thousand a week is worth it. BTW the only bank that has this customer service."

Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Once I forgot my wallet and had no ID or debit card, but since they recognized me, they let me withdraw a few $$ for lunch.Another time I had a cheque with a hold on it. The girl checked if they could get an 'image' of the cheque to verify it. That was done in 2 min, and the 5 day hold was removed on the spot!Nice work! Thanks!

Brandon To from the BMO Yaletown branch has been extremely helpful to me. He went above and beyond and got me all my old documents that I didn't think were possible to get. If you need something done quick and efficiently Brandon is your best bet!

Interacted with 3 staff in this branch during my two visits. The one teller is very poorly informed about the promotion going on. The two financial advisors are not there to help but wish you already made a decision and they just have to execute.
