Bellingham Vet Center

The Bellingham Vet Center offers military to civilian transition counseling. Licensed counselors are available to assist with reintegration, PTSD assessment and counseling and Veteran Service Organization volunteers for guidance in filing VA disability claim. Highly recommended for all vets.

9 months ago I went here to file a disability claim with VA through folks working out of this office. I have heard nothing from the VA. Went back to this facility a couple days ago wondering why I haven’t heard anything. I was told not to worry about it. Things weren’t adding up. Today I went to a different support office in Skagit county. The support officer took a look at the claim prepared out of the Bellingham office. She just shook her head. She pointed out that my claim paperwork had not been completely filled out and much of what I had submitted had been done incorrectly. Her comment, “ this claim will absolute be denied.” Her advice, wait for the VA to deny your claim and start again, but don’t do it with the volunteers at the Bellingham facility. The folks at the Bellingham facility just set me back a year on getting help. I’m considering some kind of action so they don’t do this to the next needy vet. Very angry and sad right now. People need help. There is no excuse for negligence when claiming to advocate on veteran disability claims. It’s hard enough working through the VA, but to find out fellow veterans out of a vet facility would do this feels like a nail in the coffin. Shame

My wife took the time to try to reach out to find whatever resources she could to help me (a veteran), and she came here with honest questions. They laughed at her and treated her with disrespect. What a disgrace.

I found the team here to be very effective at what they do, counseling. They are not santa claus and you have to work but that is the name of the game.I have never seen any disrespect towards anyone nor have I seen any frivolous non professional behaviour that would cause harm to anyone.

If i could give <0 i would. I went there for years w Dr Perrini and then out of the blue when i needed him the most he said i was paraniod and bi polar. I was then kicked out of a woman's group that was helping me for ptsd.
