My experience with Homestead has been very positive overall. Things didn't go perfectly the first time around, but when I called to talk to them about my concerns, they were very receptive, and encouraged me to work with the staff person so she would know how I like things done. Since I did that, it's been wonderful to come home to a clean house every other week!

Because we get the house cleaned once a month, we get a different cleaner every time. Each person has been professional and has done a good job. Our house is old with lots of young people trooping in and out so it probably should be cleaned more frequently. However, we can only afford the service once a month (4.5 hours). I know the cleaners have their hands full doing basic cleaning to manage the dust of such an active house. They have worked around young people sleeping in and dogs under the bed. We have used Homestead Maid for over 10 years – great service!

I've used Homestead Maids for 6 years. I have used several other services in the past, and I can say that overall, I have been more satisfied with the services provided by Homestead than with any other companies or individuals I have used. They have sent the same person now for at least the last year, and she has done a solid job. She is a good fit for my personal preferences, also a very nice and personable individual. A nice aspect of using the service is that if the person they send is not a good fit, they can send you someone else to try. The owner does take his customer's satisfaction quite seriously (they have always tried to resolve any issues), although I worry that the cleaners might be unduly penalized for mistakes. On that note, in terms of room for improvement, I think that the company could benefit from training the cleaners as a group (e.g., having meetings) so that they all do things consistently and have the opportunity for process improvements and collegial discussions. I would also like the cleaners to learn more about sorting garbage/recycle/compost, and eco-friendlier cleaning options, in part so that the cleaners' own health and well-being is treated with respect. Overall then, I can and have recommended Homestead Maids; there is always room for improvement.

AvoidWe hired Homestead Maid to clean our house between Air BnB bookings. Their staff did not show up for the first cleaning and there was no communication from the company whatsoever. Our guests contacted us in the evening with photos of the house in disarray. When we contacted Homestead Maid weren't aware that the house hadn't been cleaned. After a call back they said they'd gone to the wrong address. They suggested this was our fault - our street name occurs twice in Toronto. Something we had specifically explained to them via phone and e-mail. They were very apologetic, and after we insisted, agreed to reschedule the cleaning and provide it at no charge. The time agreed to was 1:30 the following day. By 3:00 the following day, we were on the phone with them trying to track down where their staff were. The cleaner ultimately showed up at 3:30 (two hours late). After this experience we decided to hire another company for our cleanings. Homestead Maid refused to honour their promise of a full refund of the missed/late cleaning because they said it was our fault that they went to the wrong address and then they lectured us via email about the costs they had incurred. They said This is a very unfortunate turn of events. I really did go the extra mile for you and your wife." We felt it was only right to refund our guest for the cleaning because they arrived to an untidy home and so were forced to pay the cost of the $128 cleaning ourselves. Unprofessional and dishonest."

We relied on Homestead to clean our house for about a year. Alisia was our cleaner and she was very pleasant and reliable. She did a fantastic job. We also appreciated the regular communication with Shelley at their office. They were very accommodating to our needs and I will continue to recommend them to friends and family.

I have know Homestead for over 4 years. They currently clean my office once a month-the staff that comes here I find to be approachable, punctual and they always do a great job and the price is right. I strongly recommend them. I am quite good at cleaning myself and have a high standard. I even notice that they make sure that streaks are not left on glass surfaces.

I have had Homestead Maid Service for over 8 years. The owner and actually all the office staff are so responsive to any special requests and feedback - this is a company that is really service-oriented. A rare thing these days I must say!! Right now the office manager is Shelley and she's great.

Terrible customer service. I called Homestead Maids to book a cleaning before a very important event therefore I needed my house to be cleaned asap. I was lucky enough to get a hold of a receptionist and she was able to accommodate my request. She made a booking and told me she would call me back in a hour or so to confirm. I waited for a couple of hours but no one called me to follow up. I called them again and it was their manager or the owner who picked up a phone. We talked and he was very nice to explain how their company works, what products they use etc. We confirmed my booking and that was the end.Next week on the day of cleaning no one showed up. It was a very busy day for me and I was honestly freaking out. I called them and the lady told me that apparently my appointment was for next week. They made a mistake! I was upset and said I no longer require services from them. I work in a hospitality industry and unfortunately have very high standards. So for me this company failed.A few weeks after that they tried to call me and talk about how they can recover" and make it up to me. The lady kept calling me pretty much every week and finally I agreed to another cleaning since they promised me a "good discount". Eventually I was told that I was going to get 10% off. It's like 8$. Are you serious guys? Is that what you call an excellent customer service? No joke. After that second attempt to make it up to me I said "that's enough". I kindly asked them to stop calling me. She still kept calling for like next couple of weeks. Really lady?Perhaps other people are happy with this company but I am clearly not."

I have used Homestead for over 5 years and have been very pleased with the service they have provided. Their staff are polite, honest and professional and have a good knowledge of how a house needs to be cleaned bi-monthly. Their staff have always been reliably on time and are especially good on bathrooms and kitchens, changing and washing the bed linen and vacuuming. I recommend the company to others looking for a house cleaning service.

I have been a homestead client over the last 20 years or so.While I was working, I always came home to a clean, tidy, fresh smelling home. Now that I am retired, the staff members whom I meet are friendly, polite, very hardworking and willing to please. I am truly grateful to homestead maid for helping me to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
