CHARGED $90/HR FOR ACCOMPANYING APPRENTICEI was given an estimate over the phone of $95/hour for an electrician with a minimum of 3 hours to avoid travel fees. An electrician arrived the next day accompanied by an apprentice. When I recieved my first invoice for over $1,600 it was a single line item with no breakdown, not even for taxes. After requesting a breakdown, I received an invoice indicating 14 man-hours at $95/hour to install 5 recessed ceiling lights and 3 switches that I had already purchased for my bedroom. When I requested an explanation , I was told that $95 was an “combined” hourly rate ($100/hr for the electrician and $90/hr for the apprentice). The electricians themselves were courteous and professional (eventhough the cleanup after they left and plaster repairs were extensive), but the business practices of the company are questionable.
