I came to KW Athletics with a bunch of uncertainties about my feet and susceptibility to injury. I left feeling pretty relieved, now that I have a much better understanding of why my feet move the way they do. I got a few sport-specific recommendations for how to pick running shoes, what to look for in cleats, etc. Highly recommended for anyone, with lots of activity-specific knowledge, too (in my case, running).Kylie performed a detailed assessment of my feet and gait, and made some very clear and interesting observations. She was able to precisely answer all of my questions, and had a really clear sense of what problems to focus on. She pointed out that an ankle brace for sport would actually be more impactful for me than getting orthotics (it's worth noting that she makes high quality orthotics in house).If your feet help you work, play or anything else, KW Athletics is worth keeping in mind. Kylie goes above and beyond! I required a AFO brace and did a lot of research. The regular ankle braces are not suitable for a highly active lifestyle . They tend to pull down on the ankle wrap when hiking or even walking around a hilly city, and caused bruising and swelling, my cords would pop out on occasion causing me to trip. So, my options were a custom brace (these are usually very stiff and have horribly uncomfortable foot plate and are not great for highly active people, and go inside your shoes), or doing research I found the Turbomed, but could not find someone who supplied them. Kylie, went out of her way to contact the company, bring in a rep, and basically bring back some of the freedoms I have lost. Big win! Kylie, fitted all my shoes, fit the brace. This brace is big, but it is comfortable, allows my to hike and drive. It creates a spring in your step in the heal, instead of only pulling up on the foot. No foot plates are required as it attaches to the outside of your shoe, so I can wear most shoes of my choice. When my insurance company question Kylie about why my other brace was not sufficient, she stood up for me and they covered the entire cost. Kylie is amazing! She really cares about people.
