Kumama Bistro and Canteen
One of the best food we had during our road trip in Banff and Jasper national park. Inspired by Asian food and great balance of each ingredients and tasty sauce. Nice presentation as well. Staff are super friendly! Definitely will come back for food.

We stayed @ Pine Bungalows for a couple days in mid to late June 2023. We wished we have stayed longer. What a beautiful, magical place!We had time for one breakfast at Kumama and what a meal it was.The staff was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable.Breakfast arrived quickly and was even better than they promised it would be.Those plates in the picture would soon be bare as could be!Absolutely outstanding. Thank you Kumama, thank YOU!

Rare hidden gem in Jasper area. We didn’t stay at the pine bungalow property, came for the good online reviews and so glad we stopped by. Unassuming atmosphere, the elk, Brussels sprouts, the tuna, the octopus were all delicious. Mike is really knowledgeable about the food and his recommendation for the Canadian Brussels sprouts were spot on - they were to die for. Strongly recommended.

Lovely little cosy restaurant hidden away, with a carefully curated menu that changes seasonally. Had a lovely birthday dinner here while holidaying in Jasper! They serve dishes designed to be shared, allowing a taste of each rich dish without feeling too overwhelmed. My favourite dish of the evening was the elk tartare, with honorable mention to the balsamic brussel sprouts :) Would recommend, and would come again, and may try to stop by to try their breakfast fare before leaving Jasper!

Completely blown away. This is one of the most incredible culinary experiences I’ve had. The delicious and unique flavour profiles of each dish left us speechless. Highly recommend. Their hand crafted cocktails are also superb. We had the elk tartare, mushroom tart, ahi tuna and octopus, and the chickpea fritter with eggplant. Pictures don’t do it justice.

Went to Jasper for a weekend, went to Kumama twice. Had the whole menu, food was awesome, service was awesome. Shoutout to Jeremy for the service as he looked after us both days!

An absolute hidden gem. We were so lucky to have found it, the meals are beautiful and honestly the best I’ve had maybe ever. I was blown away, hence the google review, my husband and I shared two vegetable dishes- Panelle Chickpea fritters with an eggplant purée and Kale with tofu, mushroom, and chickpeas, one carb- gnocchi which was so fresh and better than most resultants which claim to be homemade, and one meat- elk tartar which was decadent and balanced.

Hidden gem in Jasper. The menu/cook definitely cares about creating a great food experience. The bistro is not on the main Jasper drag of restaurants, but is worth the few minutes extra to get to. The staff was friendly and also seemed to be foodies, with great recommendations. We enjoyed our dinner so much, we came back for their breakfast the next day.

Amazing place - very cozy, right in the middle of the forest. The food was so good, beautifully served and great menu designed to share. Definitely recommended!
