This place is an experience. It is a living work of art. It is one mans dream turning into a reality. While here you are living inside a work of art. If you are expecting a motel or hotel you will be disappointed. Accept it for what it is, an adventure. Please stay for breakfast. The setting and fare are truly special. Embrace the experience.

Kool place to crash for a night exterior is beautiful interior is more small cottage type of rooms i would recommend especially if you have kids its a hidden gem has wifi optional breakfast hiking trails and i think there is a bar upfront beautiful place but the rooms are more just to sleep so don't expect super luxurious rooms.Again beautiful place

We prepaid for 3 family rooms for two days(Jul 22-Jul 24), totaling 119*3*2*1.15=821.27. The hotel is in a dense forest, and it is difficult to find. Drive along a stony road to the castle. The whole building is completed, the ground is not paved, and there is another one under construction. There are flies and mosquitoes everywhere in the yard, there is no air conditioner in the room, the facilities are very poor, and the room on the top floor is very hot. The water pipe was being repaired that day, so no water in the room. We waited for about two hours and helped the staff to repair the water pipe. After that, the water was yellow, and there was no way to take a shower that night. The staff said it would be fine the next day. We were hot all night and the water was still light yellow in the morning. We thought we couldn't take a shower and brush our teeth, but the staff told us it is good to use. Breakfast is $12 per person,we totally need 12*11=132$. The boss said we helped him fix the water pipe yesterday, so breakfast is free today. Since the hotel water is still not clear for bathing and drinking, we decided to check out. At first the boss disagree with the check-out. He did not want to return the money. He was sure that the light yellow water is good to use, but we thought not. And finally he agreed to check out, but he only gave us 109 per room without tax, and also we need pay the breakfast again. In the end he only gave us 109*3-132= 195 refund. We believe this is a fraudulent hotel.

Great place to stay if you are looking for something different! Both dinner and breakfast where delicious. The view from the top of the tower is great! Don't forget to bring your own drinks for the dinner. The room with private bathroom was basic, but good enough for us. If you like nature, good food and a good talk with the owner about building a castle and traveling , this is the place to be!

Do not believe the good reviews here!!! I reserved via call as I arrived at 5 pm my room was not ready. They gave me a room with no door ( so everyone could have walked inside), no bed (sleeping on the floor), I had no toilet, water or shower. I had to use the one downstairs, as you can see from the pictures they are not very clean. Overall I didn't felt comfortable, it was probably my worst night ever I spend. During the night a mouse walked over me, after that I spend the remaining 3h in the back of my car! After discussing with the owner, I got at least 50% back of my money as I didn't received what I was payed for ( 125$). Nevertheless I wouldn't pay any Dollar for this what he offered me to sleep. A doghouse is more comfortable. The castle itself is self build and not really worth calling castle.

À unique experience, you should come and stay in this self-built castle before it falls apart. Reviews about the banquet speak about great conversations with the owner but we never got to being addressed to. Food is passable, even by medieval standards. Bring your own drinks.

The most unique place to stay. My second time there. The owner is so pleasant. Dinner and breakfast were very good. And enjoyed the banquet style dinner and buffet breakfadt while meeting new people. The place is rustic which adds to the special ambiance .

I have come all the way from Norway many times to stay here for a couple of days. I always feel welcome, the hosts are polite and welcoming and reflected and interested in everything from what's going on in the world to what's going on in our lives. If you're looking for luxury things I bet you will find better spots but here you will find a different kind of luxury: the experience itself, quietness, calmness, proximity to nature, proximity to yourself. A visit here makes a difference.

Terrible, they have no clue how to treat guests. Booked in April and had to pay in full for June. Arrived via motorcycle and the top of the hill was all mud from tractor moving dirt around. No fridge, no microwave, brought our own breakfast bagel...no coffee in morning. No one speaks English. I asked for a receipt, gave email addy young lady said would send.......never received it...wrote on piece of paper to owner need receipt" with email addy before left and ....still no receipt.Would not stay here again or recommend. We were on the top floor of back building and had to carry everything from motorcyles up 6 flights of stairs. Road up side of mountain is loose rocks and dirt so not motorcycle friendly at all and especially not if it rains."
